Thank you Gilles for all your time and videos. I received my PL-330 on Friday. I did much research before purchasing it, and I know that you mentioned the muting. I thought to myself, oh it won't bother me. It drives me crazy! So, I ordered a PL-680. Sending the PL-330 back.
I have XHDATA D-808 excellent radio, with excellent selectivity the loudest and deafest in LW like the Tecsun pl-660 which is somewhat unstable but the least noisy, and the fantastic Degen DE 1103 my favorite cock for all work. The XHDATA D-808 stands out for the air band and the RDS the PL-660 also has the excellent Air. On the SSB the XHDATA also stands out to the others and the battery lasts an eternity.
3 years later, has the Tecsun PL880 replaced the PL680 as a best buy, in your opinion? The 680 seems to be out of stock everywhere but the 880 seems readily available, although a bit more expensive.
Thank you for sharing Sir. I have been looking at this rig to purchase, but the frequency offset bothers me a little... I am willing to ignore this drawback since the sync-detection works so well, but now am at a toss up to decide either this rig or the XHDATA D-808. I am to the point of flipping a coin... LOL Thanks for all you share with your radio reviews. Take care...
Air channel is Air by name only almost non existence (I live near 2 airports ). Radio is well build sound on FM and AM Very good. I run 20 m of copper wire ot the roof hoping to pick up more on SW not much luck. Lots of Chinese thats all. (Western Australia far far from anywhere)
Poderia ir falando e demonstrando 1 pouco das funções e a recepção desse TECSUN... Ficou devendo... O vídeo poderia ter sido muito melhor, mas agradeço mesmo assim seu esforço ❗😎👍 Valeu.
Practically no difference in reception with current models. I am told the 680 has a slightly better speaker. I can't tell much difference. But I like the 680 for the square case and buttons.
Hey, what´s up :D For the off frecuency problem that you have you could try this solution for a PL-660 but onto your 680. I have a 680 and on mine worked, my problem was on other frecuency than AM but it should work though. Cheers! th-cam.com/video/73E5k13WpRI/w-d-xo.html

I bought me a Kaito 1103 based upon your reviews. Three more days and I'll have it.
I have one of those radios you are going to love it !

Would you choose this over the PL-660 ? I already own the CCrane Skywave SSB
1. Can I use disposable AA batteries instead of rechargeable batteries?
2. Can you turn off the power completely?
Where can you get the 680?
I also own many radios my 2 favorites are the Hammarlund SP-600 JX-17 and Hammarlund HQ-180 with digital display DD-101h that replaces the clock.
If it only had an RDS, it would be a perfect portable radio
But then I would want HD Radio.
Is there a way you can open it up and calibrate this radio? I was able to do that with my old Radio Shack DX-398. It was a very simple procedure.
not on the PL 680

The frequency can be calibrated. Search TH-cam videos for calibration of PL-660, same radio.
does anyone know how to change the scanning speed? thanks

Australia has always been a tricky place for Shortwave
I'm about to call HRO and either get a CCrane Skywave , Eton Executive, or this 680 Tecsun , but still can't decide, wdy think is best??

I like this radio, not sure what I'm missing but I can't figure out how to tune in LW?
You need to change the tuning steps of AM to have Longwave available
On my 660 I need to enable LW through the power button. Bugged me for awhile til I sorted it. Hope this helps! 73
hai tom the degen de 1103 dsp is that a good radio than the tecsun pl680 grt from belguim
Hope I am not missing this in the video somewhere but you can calibrate the frequency display.
not on the PL-680 .. calibration works only on 660 and 880
@@OfficialSWLchannel I have one and I can do it on mine. I wonder if it was added in later firmware?
Best place to buy in the U.S.?
Recommend you order from Anon-Co web site. They are in China but they ship fast and have excellent service after sale.
great, I have one.💪
May I ask the difference between the PL-660 and the PL-680 in terms of the SW and FM reception and sound quailty?

James Fields Thanks for your comment! 😉
For SW SSB, AM and VHF Airband which would be the best choice? PL-660 or PL-680?
Thank you
both perform the same overall, whatever your choice it's going to be good
@@OfficialSWLchannel Thank you for the quick reply!

Do you speak French also?
yes
@@OfficialSWLchannel hahaha!
