    Had this artifact recently.
    In my case it was due to not properly enclosed mesh.
    Basically somwhere in the model you had a submesh some of concealed by another submesh, so the faces that were never going to be vosible were deleted. This is a pretty common practice among modellers - especially for video games. Kind of a rendering optimization. Unfortunately Photon slucer seems to get confused by it.
    Other slicers might be less confused.
    Also you might want to resave the model as STL. Open it in editor and re-export agsin and it should get rid of incomplete mesh by "welding" it with other submeshes.

    • @randymay

      I don't think you can fit that on this printer if I'm remembering right. You should be able to do it with no problems on something like this printer bit.ly/ElegooSaturn2Printer

    the mono 4k is NOT worth it. proprietary FEP can’t use generic fep.

    • @randymay
      @randymay  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah that does suck about the fep. I think I have seen some 3d printed work arounds for that so you can use generic ones. Also this isn't the 4k this was the 2k mono

    I learned hard way that all mono resin printers are shite as they don't have AA properly and you will see layers on XY axis no matter how small is z axis, so you either can print amazingly with old ones or fast with new mono ones.... now I waiting for DLP ones to start selling, hopefully dlp will be combination of speed and quality

    I’m looking at getting the mono x 6k. Is it a bit too much considering iv never had a 3D printer and am basically a beginner. I understand the basics but have never actually used one. Would I be better with a smaller cheaper printer first or would the 6k one be ok ?

    • @randymay
      @randymay  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You don't just put the STL files on the USB drive us have to load them into a slicer program like chitubox or lychee. This will allow you get up your file for printing and save it in the right file format for the printer.

      @@randymay well I figured it wouldn't be that easy. I have opened one in photon workshop, added supports, but when I save it, it is saved as a "model file" instead of a "sliced file" I'm kind of dumb with computers. So what do I have to do to save it as a Sliced file from the photon workshop?
      Edit: Never mind, I just had to press the giant blue layered button on the screen. Figured it out. Thanks.
