John you do great videos .. I am glad you back. Not sure if that was you or me or YT. I am glad your back .. Because if all goes well I too will be getting me some laying hens .. one step at a time .. one day at a time. this is a great video on Brooders .. and space.
I dropped off the map a bit to take care of my family and my business during the last year. I also took some of that time to write more and create some different content. I published a series of articles that I am calling, Farming - From The Ground Up which you can read here: farmmarketingsolutions.com/from-the-ground-up
Are those Prima Heat Lamps? I have been looking at them wondering what the benefit or if there is a difference between the red lights and white lights?
2 questions, John -- I just bought the plans for your tractor design and am looking forward to trying them! Do you add anything to your broiler's water? I'm trying to do organically raised (on my own acreage), not sure if they should have some cider vinegar or not. Did you switch to woodchips from pine shavings due to a problem with woodshavings? Just availablity?

We have been using the heat plates instead of the lights. Energy savings had a one year ROI.
What are the dimensions of your brooder shed? Id like to grow into raising a lot more chicks than buying pullets

Hey John what type of heat lamps did you use for your brooding house?
Great information

Nice set up, just watch when they jump that they don't go behind the open area at the corner and not be able to get out.
Where do you find those plastic sheets?
What kind of plastic sheeting is that? What's the thickness? I need to do that for my brooder
Are those the premier one heat lights?
They sure are, and I have been very happy with them.
