So long as they're well designed, I'll never get tired of these old-school style, 2D platformers. It's like my childhood never went away and I can keep enjoying games from that era.
Finished normal mode, and for those still on the fence. I love this game , normal and hard don’t treat you like a moron. I assume each boss has a weakness, but it wasn’t like mega man x , where once you are in the know. The main 8 robot baddies are push overs. But circuit makes it so abilitys make certain moves that they do less of a hastle and is super cool. For example, the ice robot will put ice shards on the floor at a alarming rate. If you jump over them , you will have to deal with them eventually , if you punch them you risk standing in place for even a little bit to destroy the ice. But you get a upgrade that makes a sheild come in front of you only when you run. This sheild is not super armor but it can have multiple uses. In this case you can break the ice while sprint shielding which makes this attack way easier to manage. This game is full of” wow I guess I can throw his stuff right back at him” or “ wow this really fixed something that I hate from mega man x” And for 20 bucks? This game was totally worth the buy. And it even encourages speed running it
if you need more great retro games to review check: Pizza Tower, Bat Boy, Ravva and the Cyclops Curse, Ravva and the Phantom Library, Planet Cube: Edge, Tiny Thor and SHINOBI NON GRATA.
Great game. one of the best Megamanlike games out there. fluid movement, not janky at all. I prefer Gunvolt 1-2-3 though. Tips: 1. BUY DOUBLE JUMP ASAP 2. Remember that you can RUN by double tapping directional button or press/hold L2
you can actually see the difficulty of levels from the threat level which shows both the map difficulty and the pow(er) of the boss, I just wanted to throw this out here for people who are selectively blind to certain game UI’s (it’s me, I’m blind to certain game UI’s)
The sprite work is gorgeous, music top notch, the movement and combat is incredibly satisfying and I was worried it would feel like a Megaman X rip off but the style and characterizations of the bosses are excellent. This game oozes charm. On top of that, grappling hook? Sign me tf up
I just finished my first playthrough - this is a fantastic game. Pretty significant late-game difficulty spike, but it was so much fun that I really didn’t mind. A must-play. It’s a really beautiful and thoughtful game.
Played this on PS5 recently and boy, i chose Cable first and i had to quit the boss battle a lot of times to farm for rescue bots just to face him with power ups. this game is 10/10 cant wait for a DLC
2:34 you said that you aren’t timed but that’s incorrect. The game does time your completion of the level. You’re rewarded if you’re able to complete them quickly.
Looks great, I haven't played it yet but from what I see, my only complaint would be a lack of a dash. I hate being constrained to a slow walk speed at all times.

In my personal opinion the Mega Man franchise doesn't do as good as it could because when we get to dr. Wily's Castle we only get three stages anymore the best thing about dr. Wily's Castle used to be that you have all these weapons and abilities that you get to use to try to overcome obstacles and bosses take Megaman 2 for instance dr. Wily's Castle was pretty big can't force you to use all of your weapons all of the bosses were well thought-out in the level design was top-notch the game was a lot of fun because of it now you fast-forward to something like Mega Man 11 dr. Wily's Castle is two levels and then you fight dr. Wily and the end but that's three levels that we got in 11 was a boss that we have fought to death the yellow devil then a uninspired boss and then dr. Wiley text Mega Man 7 for instance it was three levels and then dr. Wily the best thing about the Mega Man series in my opinion it's taking every weapon that we have and abilities that we have acquired and exciting all of the levels and bosses and sometimes even multiple castles that he threw at us but we had to make the best use of our weapons was always the magic of the end of the game I don't know if Capcom just got lazy or what but the final levels got shorter and shorter and 11 is a prime example of that where we could have had a huge dr. Wily's Castle in Fallout kinds of awesome machines 2 tests are abilities against but it was a completely wasted opportunity hopefully this game doesn't do that

It looks good, but it won't quench my thirst for more Mega Man Zero as it looks too similar to Shovel Knight which I didnt like. That will be the case when Starbuster finally drops.

This is cool. It took the best aspects of latter Megaman games and combined it in to one, really well made game. Will play.

Played the demo months ago. I’ll be pick this up within the next week or 2. I really loved the demo.
