Hi Ashley, Thank you for sharing your story. Your positive transparency is a strength. It is true. Life has detours. Some that we are not initially happy about. I am a witness. What we do always know for sure is that God loves us, sees us, and ultimately will lead us to the destination that gives us the most fulfillment, as long as we trust Him. When we can't see the road clearly, we just have to remember Psalm 119:105 "Thy word is lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path". I love this! I remember when you first posted about this new chapter and how hard it was. I wanted to say so many things but knew with time you’d have a different perspective. It was so hard when I went through my divorce with my 2 boys (youngest 6 months) but I wouldn’t trade it at ALL for the life I have now. The phrase “but God” resonates with me differently…🥰
I have been where you are and I promise you, as you remember the foundation your Mom and Dad instilled into you and the love your Father in Heaven has for you, you will be refined through the refiners fire and come out new. You will be blessed beyond measure. The memories of your old life and what you thought you would have, will creep in, but you will look at the life you have now and that moment and be so thankful for the fire you had to go through that brought you were you are. It's amazing how the Lord turns our darkest moments into the brightest light if we are just willing to remember to Be Still and Know that He is God. Continued prayers for you, the boys and their Dad.
Rebuilding a new life for you and your children is going to be challenging but not impossible. You become a new family But you’ll be wiser and stronger because of it just take it one day at a time But keep decorating because that’s what the children remember that’s their memories. Keep consistent.

I hope you’re doing well. It was upsetting to hear that your marriage was over while still working together to fix your house to your desired plan. Did you sell that house or did your ex keep it? Many years ago I too had my dream of life shattered. I found a different life and then again had to pivot when my husband died. I guess for some of us life is just one pivot after another. I wish the best for you in your new life.
