I understand where her mom is coming from tho. People should stop bringing kids into unstable situations. Babies are a blessing but it is important to be prepared and set the kid up with a healthy happy life.

A happy family life can be achieved as well with being a single parent as well. A bit more stressful, but maybe doable. Its ideal to have both partners involve but life doesn't always work out that way.

I mean I get it. Her mom doesn't want her to be a single baby's mother. Look at the estranged relationship Amara had with her own father. I don't get this fascination with rushing to have children before marriage. Not saying that everything always goes right within marriages, I just get where her mom is coming from. Even when those people wouldnt know what a healthy, non-toxic relationship was if it jumped out from around a corner, and slapped them upside their head! And then often tell a one-sided version of what is going on, to make it worse! Then, when things are all settled, and good, they wonder why things are strained between their loved ones, and who ever they're with!

It is a different kind of pain to lose your own unborn baby that you never get to hold or to see but at the same time, to not know what may be with a man who acts like he cares one minute then the next minute he doesn't. That's not a life to live. He wanted her to stay in Santo Domingo I get it but a man that really wants a woman he will make sacrifices and not leave it to his woman to make most or all of the sacrifices. No. It doesn't work that way. Unfortunately, your desire to replicate some idea of family that you felt that you missed usually backfires. You have to do your own healing first, so that you're actually searching for a partner based off of what you need and a partner rather than what society says you should have in a partner. So if your primary drive is to give your children a two-parent household, you're going to end up picking somebody who presents those things to you but it comes at a high cost. You will allow yourself to be treated poorly because of some image that you created

What her mom is saying kinda makes sense and would be something any mom would probably say.Although her delivery sounded cold, she wasn’t necessarily wrong. It’s best to have a child when the parents are in a stable relationship. I don’t understand why raising a child in a coparenting relationship is normalized. It’s not the best. Let’s normalize getting married before having children. Say what u will, but I think this is a more stable……. secure situation, than having a child out of wedlock. And knowing Amara’s boyfriend with his controlling antics idk, if this was a good circumstance for her or the baby. It could’ve gotten nasty. @Mazani Cruz you must be a single parent. There’s nothing wrong with what she said or how she said it. Everyone’s goal should be to have a family, not to just have children. A couple should aim to create a foundation before having children. That way the kids won’t be raised in a co-parenting situation. People need to be more mindful of their actions and be more responsible sexually, not normalize broken homes and “healthy co-parenting”. Don’t create a child with someone who you don’t have a solid bond with and married to. Simple.

Life is about experiencing things growing and learning. Family love should be unconditional never with conditions. That's the sad part a grown woman. Afraid to say they are expecting babies are blessings never a burden. As a parent you may not have it all. But adjusting and adapting is what you do. Sorry the women in your family have to go through that smfh. It's takes a village and the village should be family. That can give you love understanding and everything in between babies need that.

Anything short of Amara achieving her dream is a failure and it wasn't worth the sacrifice. Low key, she's saying I could have aborted you. @Queen Charli Bee true but iwe all have choices. Most women are single mothers because they had a baby in a unstable or non-long term relationship. People just have babies by someone without even discussing about the relationship itself and seeing if y’all wanna be committed to ONLY each other for life. People will know the man has no intention of long term commitment/ marriage and still have a baby ..

I completely disagree with Amara mom, she is 31 years old. She isn’t a child, if she wants to follow through with her pregnancy that is her choice. The shame/guilt she is projecting on her daughter is horrific.

My mom was mad when I told her I was pregnant. This reaction is mild compared to how she reacted. She got angry, she shouted, she cried for two days, extremely sad and disappointed in me for most of my pregnancy and didn't talk to me for 2 days. But I understood coz she must love me that much for her to have such a reaction. And she gave very valid points.

Parents sometimes put their hopes and dreams into their children. Perhaps that's what Amara' s mother has done. And an unexpected pregnancy changes everything but it doesn't have to be a negative. When that baby gets here hearts will melt and all will be right with grandma. Good luck.

I understood how her mom felt about Amara getting pregnant without being in a stable relationship, however, I don’t think Amara has to consult with her mother about having a baby. I think that’s where her mom overdid it. I’m sure Amara doesn’t want her baby in an unstable home but the way Amara is now is not the same as her mother was back then. Even if her mom is not happy with the outcome of Amarás situation, she should support her emotionally.

Her Mom literally just wants the best for her. At the end of the day, there are too many single mothers out there all because they didn't tell the baby's father until a certain point in time and things took a turn or because they weren't getting along well. She is just focusing on becoming a Mom because she wants to experience something new in her life because for her, being famous and doing the same old every single day does get boring. But once that kid is born, it's not about her anymore, it's about the kid. And why even have a kid anyways when you'll be doing other things and have someone else taking care of them???
P.S: Just peeped in the comment section that someone said she had a miscarriage...that's terrible news and I honestly feel bad for her but everything happens for a reason and like that person wrote, might be a blessing in disguise 🤷🏾‍♂️

@@whatfor2002 Mothers end up single because the FAMILY DOES NOT STAY TOGETHER. If every single mother in America could have the chance to stay with the baby's father and make it work and they get along well, every woman would take that opportunity.
