    I went up Fairfield then around to St Sunday Crag when I was a teenager, and discovered I have a fear of heights.

      Not a good place to discover that but the ridge betwren the two is a little narrow with big drops!

      It was definitely a bit hairy and scary. I recall having to do some downhill scrambling.

    I’ve always thought of Ambleside as a town. Probably because of the hordes of people milling about.
