I still remember the day I found this game, it was in a website that basically redistributed free software online, I was intrigued by the artstyle, felt like giving a try cause it was pretty light on storage space, and if I didn't like it I could just delete it and forget it anyway. BOY WAS I SURPRISED WHEN I STARTED PLAYING. Like, you'd usually get really poorly made amateur indie projects if you went in blind back in the day, Iji was something else, it was a high quality indie game before the "Indie boom" came and changed the industry forever, and no one was talking about this game. Dude, I almost didn't check it out, life would've been lesser without this game, for real, it was part of my childhood and I wish more people knew about it.

But really tho, playing an indie game with three "factions" where youre stuck in between two different alien species was mindblowing to me. Idk how difficult it was to program these things, but its just awesome to imagine the stuff that need to be done for that. Really revolutionary for an indie game at its time. In most small games, everyone is an enemy. But not in Iji

since Daniel Remar works with Ludosity now, their lead composer ".Haku" said that he wants to redo some of the music tracks of Iji for when they make an Iji based stage in their Smash Bros style fighting game they're working on. (said game is called Slap City. and so far it's pretty fun with 4 playable characters in the alpha)
The music in the game is very likable and very fitting, but when you make it to the end and you know you're fighting for the survival of the human race... and this song kicks in... you know you're in for an epic battle.

Still awesome after all this time. Feels almost criminal that this game is STILL so obscure. It's a wonderful story about how flawed everybody is and the horrors of war, but also how empathy and kindness can be just as impactful as anger and hate, if not moreso.
Epic song for an epic battle. It's hard to believe a game as excellent and professional as this was made by independents and released for free. It's a testament of the incredible creativity that can be found outside the big studios, and I hope the guys who created this get their big break in bigger studios, they deserve it :-)
Man, I really, really do like this song. I just wish that when I played the actual game that the framerate wouldn't slow down so badly for me when I fight Tor because it really goes against the whole mood this music pumps you up with. I dunno if I'm the only one to ever have that issue or not.

I like how since Iji's nanotech is based off stolen Komoto General tech, Tor and Iji (minus giant mech) are basically equals. I didn't actually realize that until a couple playthroughs later. Makes the fight even more thematically badass.
The boss theme written by Tom Mauritzon is "Face to Face", which is used for all the bosses other than Tor. This is "Tor", which is used for Komato General Tor, the final boss.

Two of the games being A.R.E.S. and Dust: an Elysian Tail. They're supposed to be released for PC and Xbox360. I already heard one of the possible boss themes for A.R.E.S. and it's sounding great.
Words don't describe this song...I was almost in tears because that's how phenomenal it is. The way the guitar riff at beginning of the song develops is absolutely ridiculous. Somebody deserves an award for this masterpiece.
I remember when i was 10 years old, when i fight General Tor then this song plays, this song increase my adrenaline, man that's the most awesome thing i ever feel, fight a final boss with intense adrenaline song
He only uses it once you fail to reflect enough of the glowing spheres he charges up and fires at you. I'm not sure how many it takes, but once he has has enough, they get absorbed and he fires the undodgeable, instant kill Phantom Hammer at you.
This final boss music makes you feel like you HAVE to give it your all. For what is left of the human race, that is already broken. But it has a glint of hope in it as well. Masterfully executed!

@marioman361 The reflector isn't useless per say, but the timing you need to use it effectively is ridiculously precise! If you're half a second early or late, you're still getting hit! That's the only reason I don't stand by it as a weapon; it's too difficult. Besides, after I got the full auto shotgun the rest was history anyway. :P

I don't always feel the shivering fear before the boss battle,
but when I do I must defeat Maximum Charge Tor on the highiest difficulty level.

Absolutely love this theme! It defines "The End of the World".
I remember its width being from the floor itself to well past Iji's max jump height, but by all means, give it a shot. Never hurts to try.
