Soy maestra de espanol. Me gustan tus videos. To help my student differentiated between the direct object and indirect object pronouns, I use the phrase "Lola is a DOPe." (because "Lo" and "La" are Direct Object Pronouns.) Not to offend anyone watching if you name is Lola. It is just a way that I heard from another teacher to help students remember which 3rd person pronouns were direct or indirect.
Very well explained. That's a really didactic video. Some little things, algunas cosillas 1) The most common mistake in Latin America (in Mexico is a pandemia) is to mix up the direct and indirect object when the indirect object is plural. Did I tell y'all? "¿Se los dije?" instead of "¿Se lo dije?" This mistake is not common in Spain because the direct object for y'all is "OS" not "se" so no confusion is possible. 2) To mix up femenine indirect object "le" and femenine direct object "la" is very common and it has a name "laísmo". To mix up masculine direct object "lo" and masculine indirect object "le" is less common but it also has a name "loísmo" and to mix a direct object and an indirect object is named "leísmo". NATIVE SPEAKERS MADE A MISTAKE ALL THE TIME. 3) The direct object "LE" for male persons or animals is CORRECT. (I saw a train, lo vi; I saw John, le vi) the plural LES is also accepted but not recomended. And finally "el cuarto" as money (it was an old coin) is a polpular expression everywhere but commonly in plural "los cuartos" actually a friend who ask money everyday is a "sacacuartos"
Laísmo , out of the places where it has been allways common ( Madrid and around ) sounds weird , even in Spain, and it is a very distinct feature that links your Spanish to a geographic geographic area.
@@6hZCBpMy Both sentences are correct but different, the problem is when 90% of people in Latam hybrid them into one "se LOS dije" I bought a car "compré un coche/carro" I bought it "lo compré" IT = LO singular, one car. You can bay ONE car to one person or more the one, I bought a car to mi wife "compré un coche a mi esposa" I bought it to my wife "LO compré a mi esposa". or I bought a car to my sonS "LO compré a mis hijos" the car is only one (it) = LO. We can also say I bought a car to her "LE compré un coche" LE = to her, singular indirect object. Or I bought a car to them. "Les compré un coche" Them = LES plural inderect objetc. The car in both cases in only ONE (It = Lo). but most part of people in Latam in those cases add an S to Lo = Them. I bought A car to my sons "Compré UN coche a mis hijos" I bought IT to them" "Se LO compré" It becomes "Se LOS compré" I bought them to them. Magically one single car changes into two or more.
Amazing video! I feel like you should mention that sometimes Le is sometimes used as direct object in professional writing and used very often that way in Spain!
Yes but that is Leismo (the wrong use of le) and The real academia española allow using "le" asía direct object only in one specific case. That happened because many people in Spain are leistas and because it's Spain otherwise it wouldn't be allowed if that happened anywhere else. People shouldn't learn that unless you want to live that.
Aprendí mucho......Buena explicación. ¡ Lo tengo¡ Voy a escucharlo (el video) de nuevo para que no se me olvide...la repetición es esencial para mí. Y luego lo pondré en práctica.

Could you explain why it’s “¿Se lo dije?” en lugar de “¿Les dije?” Los pronombres directos e indirectos siempre me confundan. 😅 muchísimas gracias!!!
@LuisGar Thanks for the reply!!
Thank you for this video! I had a really hard time with IOP's, this helped a lot.
Just found you and your explanations and teaching method is BOSS. Thank you brother.
best explanation ever... left me with no questions like you said!
One of the most helpful videos on this subject. I’ve had a tough time trying to understand this. Thank you sir
I was planning to study more of this cuz I barely understand it and here you are uploading a vid of both the direct objects😅
I'm all late, but I'm glad I found this video. Thanks for the breakdown. Ahora, necesito practicar.
Usted puede ser un buen maestro. Me gusta mucho tus lecciones.
