@@melovere nah, the subtext of the song and video is still there.. if you look at This Is America as a direct contrast to Drake's intentional career choice of staying away from race or social conversations since he gained the platform to do so you can view the video specifically as a caricature of a culture he wilfully doesn't understand but has profited from. The lyrics themselves don't say shit, which is the salient point behind the criticism of Drake in the context I mentioned before. For the same way Story Of Addidon was an allegory for generational dysfunction being repeated.. This Is America could be applied as the first chapter of the entire story that brought.. and they easily segue into one another.
