a little while ago, i read a book called "the 5 second rule" (i believe it's by mel robbins?) and it's honestly the number one thing that helped me with my procrastination. it's basically about the power of a "push moment" and how your brain can come up with tons of reason to _not_ do the thing you need to do within 5 seconds. so the basic idea is that, when the "oh, i should probably do this" thought pops into your head, you have to use the power of that "push moment" and get up and start doing that thing within 5 seconds before your brain can come up with the heaps of reasons to continue procrastinating and not doing it. it was a huuuuge help for me, not even just for procrastination, but it was a massive part of recovering from my depression. i'd highly recommend looking into it!
Girl, your makeup is ON POINT. And I would like to say, I've been watching your videos for years to get inspired. I have depression and anxiety, and you've been really helping me out for a long time. Also you've been inspiring my thrifting for years as well. So THANK YOU!
This was such a quality video with real, helpful content. I cannot thank you enough for this!! Edit: Applying this to my life, as an adult, when I get into a mental funk. With depression, it's easy to fall back into this state of "I can't do this." Thank you for helping me with this video. I know depression is not the same thing as procrastinating, but for me this advise will help me as an individual who struggles with depression. It won't always be a simple cure because depression isn't like that, but this video is full of great advice for helping me slowly overcome that mental funk. Thanks again for this video. My favorite video of yours to date!!
how do not procrastinate in a more and more overwhelmingly world. So much information you have to tune in every day in order to maintain update and to not pass for ignorant. i`m 36 years old and feel the pressure of the learn new skills such as Code, Machine learning etc.... for fear of the future job market and the automation impact. On top of that you have social media, service streams, be a political conscient person, eat healthy, exercise, maintain and feed relationships and the list goes on and on. The challenge for me is to filter relevant and irrelevant, make now and can wait. For me too Sarah i think lack of sleep and vitamins deficiency has a huge biological mental impact in maintaining focus, clear thinking, the process of making a decision, increase anxiety, shop and eating impulsiveness. Do have study lines that think procrastination is a good thing after all because of delay gratification and tasks, in general, make the brain process with more assertiveness of what otherwise would be made with more impulsiveness and less thought.
Yesterday I had work I needed to do for uni, and I told myself I would continue watching the umbrella academy once it was done 😂 you’re right, it does work!
thank you for this video. i really needed this right now, i've always been a procrastinator but now i'm on my senior year of high school, i have a lot of things to get done and i need to stop procrastinating
I feel like the reason I procrastinate is mostly related to fear of failure, like I do want to get work done but it feels like if I set myself up for failure at least it is my choice to be mediocre lmao. It is a miracle I made it through uni and am not fucking up my masters
I’ve been procrastinating SO bad. Just unmotivated really. I have one more year until my BA and i think I’m burned out, I just want it to be over already! 😫
Thank you Sarah for this bullshitfree video! I got good tips how to handle this issue. Could you post about compliting tasks/projects? It’s another layer of this theme... Also do you use a planner/agenda?
You know what is weird? I can procrastinate even on activities I want to do and was looking forward to do them the entire day. For example, watching your video but I wanted to play games...weird, right? Maybe it’s the thought of not doing anything that is so appealing for me because I’m lazy as well so my brain probably pick the activity with ironically less activity in it.
you might have inattentive ADHD (a.k.a. ADD). I always just thought I was the most lazy person in the world. but turns out I just had ADHD. which doesn't change much on it's own, but does give access to helpful tools
Potential reframe to ponder- you’re not lazy, if you were you wouldn’t be such a prolific youtuber on three, count ‘em, THREE channels. Vega, thrifter, sustainability pursuer...these are not the province of the lazy...just sayin’!
Oh you're crazy!!!!! Am I? Or am I so sane that you just blew your mind?!!!! It's impossible!!!!! Is it? Or is it so possible that your head is spinning like a top?!!!!! It can't be!!!! Can't it? Or is your entire world just crashing down all around you?!!!!!
Bold of you to assume I'm not watching this to procrastinate
💀💀💀 😂
*puts video in watch later*
Underrated comment 😂
This came at a perfect time, but also I'm procrastinating.

Perfect timing. My exams are coming up
I did some chores after watching this video. Sometimes you just need the extra push, also, hello Star Trek.
I have possibly never related to a TH-cam intro so much in my life. Like... same, girl. Same.

i'm so bad I've been procrastinating for years on making myself a doctors appt...
I feel like the reason I procrastinate is mostly related to fear of failure, like I do want to get work done but it feels like if I set myself up for failure at least it is my choice to be mediocre lmao. It is a miracle I made it through uni and am not fucking up my masters
my level of procrastination: watching this video instead of writing my thesis
*Watching this to procrastinate*
U should look up the science/neurology on procrastination! :) Procrastinators seem to have different brains then a „productive person“.
10-minute tidy is an easy way to get something done in the morning or before bed.
*is interested*
*but puts in a playlist to watch later*
I’m procrastinating to watch this
ironically enough I'm watching this instead of studying
This is much needed for me😆
Thank u so much for this video! Is really motivator 🖤 sending u love
I’ve been procrastinating SO bad. Just unmotivated really. I have one more year until my BA and i think I’m burned out, I just want it to be over already! 😫

*_I am a lazy bastard._*
I've never in all 30 years of my life heard the phrase " eat the frog" 🐸🍽️😂
Same!
Thank you Sarah for this bullshitfree video! I got good tips how to handle this issue. Could you post about compliting tasks/projects? It’s another layer of this theme... Also do you use a planner/agenda?
Typo hun ❤️
I'm here instead of writing my term paper
You look gorgeous♡♡♡
I’ve never clicked so fast on a notification before
I'm a lazy, depressed procrastinator with a creative/artist block. Hopeless.
Thank you anyway.
You're not hopeless.
I’m not actually procrastinating anything in particular besides maybe doing the dishes lol
quick, there’s a typo!!
You know what is weird? I can procrastinate even on activities I want to do and was looking forward to do them the entire day. Literally procrastinating studying for my test lmao
Putting off doing my taxes by watching this video lol
How did this come up while I’d just shoved my books aside claiming I’ll get to studying eventually?

you might have inattentive ADHD (a.k.a.

Typos happen...vegaN (not vega)
She’s not vegan
She does a lot of vegan recipes, either way that far more trouble than the vast majority of Americans. You can add college grad to the list!
Oh you're crazy!!!!!
Am I? Or am I so sane that you just blew your mind?!!!!
It's impossible!!!!!
Is it? Or is it so possible that your head is spinning like a top?!!!!!
It can't be!!!!
Can't it? Or is your entire world just crashing down all around you?!!!!!
