- Todd fires up the Blackstone Camping griddle to create crispy, golden beer-battered halibut filets. After a stop at Pike Place Market for fresh ingredients, he cooks up seasoned potatoes and blends a tangy tartar sauce with mayo, dill relish, chives, and a splash of lemon. It's a tasty, homemade meal that is sure to impress!
Beer Battered Halibut: blackstoneprod...
Ingredients
1 cup mayonnaise
2-3 Tbsp dill relish
1-2 tsp fresh chives, diced
1 lemon
2 lbs Halibut filets
1 1/2 cups flour
1 can beer
Oil for cooking
Salt
Pepper
Directions
1. Mix the mayonnaise, dill relish, and diced chives to make the tarter sauce. Squeeze lemon juice into the sauce and season with salt and pepper, to taste.
2. Preheat Blackstone griddle to medium heat. Place a deep cast iron skillet on griddle top, filling with oil for deep frying the fish.
3. Cut Halibut filets into strips, sized as desired.
4. Put the flour into a bowl. Add beer and mix, adding more as needed to get the consistency of a thin pancake batter. Season with salt and pepper and mix well. Please the Halibut filets in the batter, flipping around to ensure they are fully coated.
5. Once the oil is around 350-375 degrees, carefully add each Halibut filet to the oil.
6. When fish are nicely browned, remove from the oil and let them cool down for a minute or two on a paper towel.
7. Enjoy with the homemade tarter sauce!

Very nice techniques. You make a lot of amazing meals on camp-ready equipment. Definitely my style. Rugged pro tips!
I sure do appreciate you watching & leaving the encouraging comment. Thank YOU!!!
Beautiful halibut! Pike Place market is a fun place. Lots of interesting shops in the area😊
Ya know why I like watching these videos? 1st, the awesome personalities and foods on this channel, but 2nd, I never realized before how easy these condiments are to make rather than buying. So much knowledge here!
Also, KFC has some of the best slaw out there!
Right on! I know we all give KFC our time. It’s nothing like it used to be back when it was Kentucky fried chicken and I was a kid, but coleslaw is still incredible! I appreciate you.
Looks pretty delicious Todd. Looked so crisp. Great job on it. Have a wonderful weekend Todd .
Looks really good!
Thank you, Kerry! I hope you have a great weekend.
Hey Todd, sorry I missed you, my neighbor was sick!
That's it I'm comin over🤣🌞!
Oh yeah love the Coleslaw 🎉

Impressive, looks fantastic!
Wow, looks outstanding! Not a huge fried food person, but this is excellent. We have some halibut from our Alaska trip to use up, this looks to be the ticket! Thanks Todd
Thanks for watching. I’m not a huge fried food person either. That’s why you only see me do it once or twice a year on here. Have a great weekend!
@@praisehisawesomename thanks Todd. Have a great weekend, kind of over though, as well. Good luck with the Broncos this year! I am cheering for the Vikings.
Oh man that halibut looked so good, it’s a dream of mine to spear a halibut and cook it up on my blackstone that day!
OMG that looks so good
Pacific Halibut has quickly become my new favorite fish. 🐟 I actually get it shipped to me from the Pacific NW. I haven't tried it fried yet though. Looks delicious!
Thanks for sharing!! That halibut looks so fresh and delicious! Yes, I believe KFC has great slaw!
Right on!!!!! Thank you!

Thanks for calling out our PNW fish! ❤
Outstanding job, Todd! You really nail these fish cooks! Those griddles are definitely handy. Hopefully, you and the family have a fantastic weekend! Cheers, as always, my friend!
Thank you for all the kind words! I sure do appreciate you continuing to watch. Hope you have a great weekend as well. God bless you!
"Let's give it a fry...just for the halibut!"
I appreciate you watching AND the creativity!!!!!!!!! Thanks.
I guess I’m weird maybe because the only thing we had besides red lobster was long John silvers and I always liked the tartar sauce for the fries and the cocktail sauce for the fish and shrimp but that halibut looks awesome that’s one of my favorite fish
Two massive winners in a row Todd! - Cheers!
Curious... Does your wife cook too? 😋
Great soundtrack!
Hi, Garry. Thanks for watching as always. I sure do appreciate you. I’ve always done most of the cooking, thus ended up cooking for a living here. And cook. She’s the brains of the operation and is way smarter than I am!!! To the glue that holds the family together. She is my gift from God.
@@praisehisawesomename You two are definitely a loving team and that's what makes it all work so smoothly.
It's not hard to feel your combined energy, even through TH-cam - Bless you all. - Cheers!
I'm also the prime cook here, with a passion for experiencing all that food preparation has to offer...
Leave a sip for the cook
This looked soooo good! The PNW was my favorite trip ever! We loved Pikes Place. I enjoyed visiting the Starbucks there.
Looks good Todd, hey I was wondering what happened to Spencer and Kristy?....destination delicious
He says you don't want to use metal on these camp griddles... 2 seconds later he's using a steel spatula on it
No steel spatula. It’s the plastic camp griddle spatula. Thanks for watching.
