    As a life insurance agent, I can attest that everything Dave said is true. Lawyers do not get part of your life insurance benefit. It all goes directly to your beneficiaries.

    • @krogdog

      Do you also agree with his statement that whole-life policies are a rip off and we should only buy term?

    • @AlexPerazaTV
      @AlexPerazaTV 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      actually, lawyers can get part of a claim if they sue the insurance company for a claim and win.

    • @erincosta565
      @erincosta565 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AlexPerazaTV Not in the example presented here, even if it was legitimate. Lawyers do not get compensated with death benefits. If something is amiss with the claim and it's denied or under investigation, that is a different story. For example, if someone dies by suicide within the first two years of the policy being in force, that can be reason for a denial. And, like I said, there are some bad players out there. It takes just a quick Google search. Within my company, I know a story of someone who was going through underwriting, he went out for a hike, got bitten by a snake, and died. His family received the death benefit even though the underwriting process was ongoing. Find a company that values you for more than the potential commission. Just because the premium may be less costly doesn't mean it's better coverage.

    If the FBI has any interest it would be an occupational endeavor for them. Otherwise don't give them a reason to target you. States AG office might be more feasible to catch them.

    Dishonest, scared, greedy, or desperate.
    Those are the characteristics of a good mark.
    The “lawyer” is looking for someone desperate/greedy enough to want/need the money asap, BUT the mark also needs to be scared of losing the money or dishonest enough to take the money despite never knowing this “relative”
    As a result, the mark will be in such a rush that they will pay whatever bogus fees the “lawyer” throws at them. Of course the money isnt real, and the “lawyer” is looking to make a couple hundred on the quick through fees.
    Is the attorney’s name Lionel Hutz? Saul Goodman perhaps?
    A person who is honest, on stable finances (not scared or desperate), and not greedy, takes the time to question the premise as this fellow did.

    He should tell them he's homeless and has no money, so can they send him a check to his post office box or something.
