Idli podi or Milagai podi (Tamil: இட்லி பொடி) is a coarse spice powder, with a mixture of ground dry spices that typically contains dry red chilis, black urad dal or sesame seeds, curry leaves, salt and Asafoetida. This spice mix is commonly referred to "gunpowder" or "chutney powder". It is generally mixed with oil when it is served as side for Idli or Dosa.
