My partner and I live in Toronto, but she's been away on work exchange in Melbourne since March and will be there for half a year. I was lucky enough to visit her for just over 3 weeks in April and I absolutely fell in love with the city. It's got most of what Toronto has and then some, and I couldn't agree more about how good the vibes are, especially in the CBD. It's crazy how recognizable everything is since I was able to tell exactly where you two were within the first couple seconds of each shot - I really miss being in Melb and I really miss my partner :')

Continue to love your videos. I am a massive Melbourne fan (although from Sydney).
When you pick up Blueberry you really need to see more of Melbourne.
Melbourne and Sydney are similar in that they're both cities of villages (the suburbs are cities and towns in their own rights). The CBD of both cities is only one aspect of the city. To make an analogy out of food it would be like getting a hotdog loaded with toppings, but only ripping out the sausage and taking a bite of it then dumping the rest.
Melbourne has the worlds largest tram network (actually it's so large, if you combined all the light rail and tram networks in North America together, Melbourne's track length is still longer).
So it's super easy (if a little slow), to get to all the villages you need to see from St Kilda, Chapel St through Windsor, Prahan, South Yarra through to Richmond, the MCG, Fitzroy, Brunswick, Collingwood, Willamstown, Brighton Beach....

I was born in Crown St Sydney, lived here in Sydney almost all my life (50 years), with Sydney Harbour literally across the road for us, but I have to admit, Melbourne has the best vibe, food and coffee.
In Sydney you need to seek out the good places for food and coffee, as the average is pretty average. Whereas in Melbourne pretty much any random restaurant or coffee shop will have great food and amazing coffee.
Melbourne seems like a great model to demonstrate how beautifully a multicultural society can work.

Good video , in my younger years I lived a stone’s throw from the city and the MCG ( spent a lot of time at the footy in those days 😀), lived in the outer burbs for the past 40 ish years.
It’s good to see the old city.
A pity you didn’t have time to see more like some of the cool little suburbs adjacent to the city like Williamstown which has the water doing a big arc around it , and some good fish and chip places , which you can grab a feed and sit looking across the water at the city ( quite nice at night), or follow the water around and eat looking across port Philip bay , also quite good at the western end if there’s a good sunset.
    Happy trails 😉.

As an ex-Adelaidean who's also lived in Brisbane and Perth I have always considered that Sydney and Melbourne are full of braggarts. Now watching your independent reaction to Melbourne I can see that just maybe it has got a lot going for it. (except the climate). Thanks for the most enjoyable Vlog I have ever watched. Good photographic and editing skills also.

Only in Melbourne you get people complaining about the weather and will still go out in shorts and a T-shirt on a winter day.

Love seeing Melbourne through fresh eyes. Some of those shots have really reminded me how beautiful the city is. Also, side note: doesn’t all sushi soy sauce come in the little fishies?!

In the US and most of Asia, the soy sauce comes in little plastic packets 😅

What most visitors to Melbourne dont realize is that a couple of hours away to the north east is one of the largest temperate forests on earth. Hundreds of square kms of largely unspoiled wilderness that has to be seen to be believed.

Ned Kelly's father came from Ireland. His family lived on the neighbouring farm to my father's family in Ireland (my family is at least 10 generations in that area). The local village near their farms where my grandparents are buried has a Ned Kelly pub and Ned Kelly festival. His fame spreads.

Folks ... Not sure if you went to Little Italy (Lygon Street), Little Greece (Lonsdale St), There are so many food areas. Also next time see if you can make it to SkyHigh in the Dandenond Ranges for a sunset view of the City. There are sooooooooooooo many areas.

Melbourne looks absolutely amazing - totally our kind of city! We were cracking up about the free lawn chairs. It looked like there was a Weekend at Bernie's situation going on in the background. 😂😂

Glad you enjoyed our fabulous city 😊 I'm from Qld originally, but I've been in Melb more than 25 years & love it. Hope you got to hang out in the Botanic Gardens or Fitzroy Gardens. Really close to the CBD & not too many ppl around so good places to retreat if Tia feels anxious.

Melbourne has about 10,000 resturants and 10,000 pubs/bars. If you went to one new resturant and one new pub each day it would take you thirty years to experience them all.
