A good way to use the manual one is you can put a timer on it. I find the manual one better myself. I agree with the comment that Teflon is dangerous to ones health so the ceramic is a must.
I have a crock pot book called " Fix-It and Forget-It 5-Ingredient favorites " by Phyillis Pellman Good. Love this book. She has several books but I like this one the best.
Always manual!! If there is no electricity, the manual one starts again, the digital one, if it does not have a backup battery, turns off and no longer cooks.
I would not use any cooking item with Teflon as we know that it is unsafe especially after they are scratched inside.

I bought a crockpot brand the other day. I am testing it Friday in a couple days to see if it works. I think I will enjoy my new piece.

From my experience if you ask someone about it , they would not even know what it is or muchless how to use.
