Mr. Tamaki's songs and the way he sings them vividly remind me of how I felt at that time.
Dimash is a power singer, technically he hits every note perfectly. He does convey a lot of feelings in this performance. Koji, on the other hand, sings from the depth of his soul. I have listened to him sing this song well over 20+ times and every single time, he still brings out that sadness that emanates from the core of my heart.
The difference between Dimash’s version and Koji’s version is the difference between manufactured sadness and genuine pain. Peace
Both are great. The first is a craft man and the second is THE artist.

I find myself gobsmacked when Dimash sings, I really think he is the best singer on Earth, he's possibly an alien. But when Koji begins to let the pain out ,you just know his performance is superior.
Also agree, this song is Dimash's best as far as I'm concerned.

Dimash was yelling, that is more suitable to the communists. Koji Tamaki's singing touches everyone's heart.
Simple from the heart nothing, nothing is more powerful.
You should definetly check out the original studio version of "Ikanaide" by Koji Tamaki, its an experience. The mix, arrangement, and Koji's vocals in the late 80s/early 90s is the best of all time imo.

The fact that he does do different versions makes him so unique as a performer. Autumn Strong, Know, Unforgettable Day etc. It's important to remember that the The Singer performances are literally done to glorify every aspect of his vocalization (after all It's a singing competition). His concert performances are more stripped back and imo are better. Having seen him live, he is extraordinary and mind-blowing to witness as i guess many will back up who have seen him. Ps Koji Tamaki's version is chillingly good.

Two Brilliant performances of this superb song. Because this song means so much to the Chinese audience Dimash learned this in Mandarin within the weeks rehearsal between shows, first time he sang in Mandarin on the "Singer" and he was worried about his pronunciation but all his fellow competitors said he was word perfect. It appears that the Chinese version was reimagined with completely different lyrics from the original Japanese version with the two only sharing the melody.

Koji Tamaki composed this song for his late wife, it is understandable he is a lot more emotionally connected to the song. His version is all about sadness - more wintery. Dimash learnt this song in a week, in a different language than his. His version is all about loneliness - more autumn feel. To be able to embody the same emotion as the original composer within a week in a different language just show he is just on another level.
When Koji was singing, I was literally trying not to cry. I agree he definitely sang this song with more emotion.

@@camdenharris True. Though he doesn't have Dimash's vocal, he reached out to your soul through his emotions. Also, if you have read the lyrics, the two versions are totally different. It's not a direct translation from Japanese to Chinese, the two has different meaning but only share the melody.

It was my understanding Koji wrote this song about a Chinese born Japanese actress during WW2 who ended up being deported after the war.

One of my favourite Dimash song.The most impressive is that Dimash does not speak Mandarin and He learned this song phonetically in one week and native speakers say his pronunciation is very good. Dimash say the mandarin is a very difficult language to learn! Dimash delivers this song with so much restraint and it’s absolutely haunting. Remember he learned to sing this in Mandarin in 1 week. That is a tough language to get. This is my favorite version of his, though the original is quite compelling isn’t it.

Shout out from Kazakhstan. I’m a fan of your UK Drill reactions. Not a big fan of Dimash’s music, however I can’t deny that the boy is extremely talented. I’m kinda shocked and surprised to find my compatriot’s video on your channel. Can share some Kazakhstani hip-hop videos you might like. Big props and wishing all the best to you and your channel.
I think Dimash makes each performance personal. He sings it how he feels at the time, not like a robot turning out songs like a machine.
I personally think that both are similar type of artists.
Vocally the are very different. Tamaki used to have more of a rock voice (but combined with whisper, weeps, soft sigh, with sadness, oozing sensuality to full, powerful rock vibrato), but the way Dimash makes each and every live performance one and only, making the audiences feel special reminds me of young Tamaki. Tamaki is a singer songwriter and also plays guitar fyi.
La interpretación de Toji ,,,, tiene la melodía similar a la de Dimash , voz dulce mas lenta nomas , pero es un cantante dramático muy !!!! Me recuerda a un cantante dramático argentino ya murió también. Sandro , si SANDRO , lloraba pero lloraba en casi todas sus interpretaciones , ,la letra es triste pues nos cuentan una historia verídica , de la chica , pero tanto dramatismo no va , pues no es que le sale desde adentro ese sentimientos , pues ni una lágrima , pues si se siente de verdad , wauu cualquiera puede decir se DESMAYA , y paso !!! Dimash lo canta una melodía bien expresada ,sentida desde adentro. Pero si su cara mirada sus melismas fuerzas buen manejo de respiración triste si muy triste , se nota esto de una buena interpretación muy buena voz dulce su mirada de tristeza pues es como si a él le pasó o algún familiar o a cualquier perdona que le llega mucho ,pues tiene un corazón una humildad respeto valor a esa letra de la historia verídica que paso a pasó nos va con tanto , en su expedición de su cara voz dulce aterciopelada ,pero es como si gritara lo que siente ese dolor !!! I recommend you to listen the Hong Kong singer Jacky Cheung's version, which can be compared to Tamagi Koji.
