  • Hi Alchemist,
I have a super duper art haul for you guys. I have 98% of my items as you will see. However my Blick items are still in transit but you will see them on my next video. I am only showing you what I got from where but no swatching...I will make separate videos for that. Feeling great and happy. I am only going to link the places I got the items but not each item as its a lot of things. Enjoy it and I will see you on my Daniel Smith video! Happy Saturday! Maria

@@ThePortlandArtStudio Hi PJ, the international mail is slow this year! I was surprised DHL Express took one day longer than expected. My other box is somewhere in the Netherlands...its probably going to be a few week for it!

6:05 oh gouache is so much fun, but there is a learning curve. Watercolor is fun. American made watercolors are worth it too

26:39 so I have a question. What palette should be used for each painting medium? Specifically for acrylic, watercolor and oil. I see the different palettes, plastic, glass, wood, ceramic. I know that ceramic is used for watercolor, obviously wood would not be recommended, the wood would absorb the paint.

@@difficult.e Excellent question! Wood is used in both acrylic and oil. The pallette does absorb the oil paint whichni am on with it as I paint in very large intervals of time. The only exception was in class. Moat mix media used a butcher tray for acrylic qnd watercolor. The acrylic if it dries it peels off easily from the tray. Many also use a Masterson wet pallette which is plastic to keep acrylic paint moist a longer period of time. Watercolor can be use with just about anything as you may already know.

@@difficult.e I forgot about glass is prefer for oils and acrylics as you can clean it off very easily but also can see the colors. Its very easy to mix oil paints in glass. You just have to be careful not to break it. The paper pallette is just for convenience.
