The evolution of Silverchair should be studied in school. To see where they started and to see where they ended up is quite incredible. All over a relatively short period of time. Daniel Johns is truly a master of songwriting, at the very least.
💯 always thought Rick Beato should do a deep dive into Diorama/YM songs but he’s too infatuated with mid shit like Smashing Pumpkins. Billy Corgan wishes he could write songs like this.
I'm here after TTBpart3 on FutureNever. God almighty. This is the most heartbreaking song I've ever heard. Especially when you put the songs together. I can die now knowing I've witnessed the best musical vessel there ever was of our time. Born 1979 and just had my best musical awakening. Daniel Johns I salute you. This song is crushing me.
Why this band broke up breaks my heart. Their craftsmanship and musicality was just starting to ascend to masterclass. What a wonderful example of executing a tricky number live to a tee. The vocal is just gorgeous n the instrumental delivery of the understated rhytm section Joaneau and Gillies are tight as a whistle. Wonderful band I miss dearly
I know that musical taste is subjective, but I really don't understand the dislikes on this video. This song is beautiful and the performance flawless. Even if its not your style of music, the high level of musicianship on display here should be more than apparent.
Agreed - one of the best bands of 1995-2010. The evolution of their style with each album is just incredible - each time it was a bit jarring at first, but then it really grew on you. That is a really difficult thing to do - not many bands have the musical ability to do that. Definitely not Nirvana ; D
This song will never age. It will forever be a complex, beautiful gift to the world. It amazes me every time I hear it, it calls to your soul. Genius doesn’t give it justice. Passionate feeling and layered beauty
Didn't think they could top Tuna In the Brine until this :) Tuna in the Brine is epic. This is elegant, delicate, and carefree, but still with beautiful transitions, layers and complexity.
Banda maravilhosa!
6:35 it sounds like he went up a range or octave or something at the end of the word. I think it might've been echoe or something but it sounds amazing.
I have to say that this is by far my absolute favorite performance by Silverchair, possibly my favorite live performance period. Thank you so much for posting this! I honestly can't stop watching it! 😊
I love how they have evolved. From angsty kids to mature grown ups. I really admire them for having different style in different eras. I totally get Daniel Johns coz when I was a kid all I wanna listen was just rock, metal and prog but as time goes by, i learned to appreciate different genres. Their versatility what sets them apart from other bands. The courage they had specially Daniel Johns to evolve and do what he loves is just amazing. He truly is an evolving artist. A virtuoso.
Verdade.
@@youngmodern_br6208 sim!
Kkkk
Summer Camp... I've never known someone else who has heard of them before... I'm not sure that I agree with the comparison, but I'm happy to hear them referenced

Australia's Beatles lol
Truly epic
He’s a genius.

Daniel Johns is true jewel of this earth
Daniel's voice is hypnotic. They are one of the few bands that sound just as good if not better live.
Definitely better live! One of the tightest bands I've ever seen. Can say that having been lucky enough to see them about 15 times. ❤
Unironically one of the most beautiful songs ever written
Anyone with an open mind can appreciate this song regardless of musical knowledge or taste. It’s Art for the ears

Wow. Dan's vocals are as clear and perfect as the record.
Silverchair live were tight as can be ever since they were 13 👌
I think this live version is a million times better than the album record.
This guy is a genius
Indeed.
Are genius
Yes but he don't appreciate what h have😢❤️
@@thechemist901 What is he up to these days?
John Mahony he makes techno music with another guy :(
This album will be highly appreciated in 10 years.

I agree, can't understand the dislikes
+Xenophobic Alien Probably the dislike went to strange behaviour not thieving birds
people missed the raw Silverchair sound. But this song is definitely a very very good piece of music.
We can only put it down to the lack of grey matter, taste in music, or jealousy?
Only 15 dislikes after this long. Pretty remarkable compared to any other video I have ever seen with these views.
Most underrated band on earth
Chris is pretty underrated. These are some tricky basslines.
The most underrated band of all times!
kiki the gerbil look at how many views this has, they are very underrated and it’s sad to see.

SlowDownTurbo you clearly know nothing about the band then... they’re music took a drastic change and wasn’t what fans of silverchair liked
@kiki the gerbil underrated in regards to the world. They were HUGE in Australia but deserved the world
I just love this era, it brings me so much joy to see Dan smiling and happy.😢
We may never see another musical genius like this.
this song was the most ''Diorama thing'' Silverchair made on Young Modern. That's why it is so wonderful,
This song will never age. It will forever be a complex, beautiful gift to the world. It amazes me every time I hear it, it calls to your soul. Genius doesn’t give it justice. Passionate feeling and layered beauty
This guy’s vocal tone gets me every time. One of the best.
this is literally an epic live performance. not just for them, but as a standard of live performances. flawless and beautiful. wow.
kellynkarr it’s literally impossible to keep that melody on vocals and play guitar with the key changes
Daniel Johns the most talented and innovative composer of Grunge and post grunge era !! he's the Brian Wilson of Australian country !
Marco Andrea Scalia he’s like Neil Young, Brian Wilson with a bit of raw Cobain mixed in
Ben detto
Daniel is my longest celeb crush. Silverchair is my fave band. Would do anything to see them live.
It’s so sad that they’re broke up :(
roasted spud packets me 3
I saw them mid 90’s. 🥰🥰 I’m also in Bens latest filmclip released today 😁😁😁
Didn't think they could top Tuna In the Brine until this :) Tuna in the Brine is epic. This is elegant, delicate, and carefree, but still with beautiful transitions, layers and complexity.
Me too.. I miss them.
can't agree more.. on point..
I LOVE this but Tuna might be the greatest song ever written lol
Totally agree, I have a hard time to choose if askesmd which one is better. Cause both are his masterpiece! ❤
Tuna is definitely better.
Daniel Johns is a very underrated guitarist. Getting that picking at the beginning part of the song is not easy.
If i could i would "like" it multiple times - simply beautiful!
Seriously, what a fucking song.
this song makes me float 😊❤️🌟
I was so lucky to see this band live.
James Gormley yeah, I can't believe this was already 11 years ago. I almost forgot I was actually there!
Houston, 2007!
2021 and still listening since 1995. Always will ❤️❤️
This song needs more listeners. It's magical!
Literally the hugest talent on the planet since Cornell passed! NUFF said.
One of my favourite silver chair songs. Love it. Daniel is a genius and I can’t wait to hear what’s coming out this year from him.
My favourite song I think, not just Silverchair, but my favourite!
Magical. Dan's voice is magical.
I love this song, flawless vocals, amazing lyrics. Incredible!
Every time I watch this, I fall in love.
Great song. Great live vocals. Silverchair, motherfuckers!
This song, the lyrics, the melody, it's all beautiful. It takes me somewhere else. I miss Silverchair.
This song just like every single silverchair song is amazing
DANIEL'S ADULT MUSIC; EVERBODY HAS TO GROW UP! Love the music of his youth and into the now! ❤
Banda maravilhosa!
Really nice picking. Man, these guys make great music.
Caralho!
minha preferida tbm , uso ela pra colocar meu filho pra dormir.
6:35 it sounds like he went up a range or octave or something at the end of the word. I think it might've been echoe or something but it sounds amazing.

Wonderfull music I love, love, love
Gives off a very heavy Sunny Day Real Estate vibe, mixed with some VERY early Foo Fighters, some cabaret and a bit of Summer Camp Love it.
Summer Camp... I've never known someone else who has heard of them before... I'm not sure that I agree with the comparison, but I'm happy to hear them referenced
Em 2021.. pura nostalgia

belleza de cancion
god damn amazing
My favourite concert. Across the great divide.
I see them referred to as an "Alternative Rock" band but they seem more like a "Progressive Rock" band. I love this song.
Simply incredible. RIP to the genius of Daniel Johns.
