Those little shocks are expensive for what they are , but sure makes trimming around things easier when not jumping so much . Thank you for stopping in
Thanks for doing the video. My 318 is bucking pretty bad and the issue needs to be fixed. I like the ideal of silver Sharpie and not dropping that plate down inside. It really helps.
Also check that the linkages are not real sloppy and the rear axle is bolted in tight . Those can cause issues also. Thanks for stopping in , Hope you get it sorted out
Dang I thought the shock on my k66 was expensive at 64 bucks. When I first started researching that shock it took forever to find out why it was even there. Makes sense with all the bumps and bouncing around why it's needed.
My 430 is acting the same way and sometimes it's bucking aggressively. I have the same shock and it's collapsed. I suppose I have to splurge the $150. Thanks man.
Also look for excessive play in any of the linkages . and make sure rear axle bolts are tight . I is a shame the little shock cost so much. But it really made a difference.
ADDITIONAL SOLUTION! I also found that I had loose bolts where the differential attaches to the frame. This allowed the front of the Hydro to move substantially and cause jerking. I first replaced the damper and removed all play from my linkage but It still jerked. After tightening the 4 bolts, it now drives very smoothly. I hope this helps someone.
i bought an old 185 hydro that bucked violently on takeoff . owner said he quit using it because of trans . turned out that the bolts holding the trans to tractor were extremely loose .
Terry I had no idea that shock even existed. Nice one thanks 👍

Yes that can do it . Glad you got it all sorted out.
Any idea if this part number will work for my 1989 318?
I am not sure . if it looks the same probably . Best to look it up by serial number . There were 4 different versions .
A bucking John Deere lol 🤣 well you are going to make it stop doing that
Yes it is much better now.
@@wtbm123 that is I to hear that you got it running again
