Good video Dave, are you treating the costia mate or going to leave it? What storage bag do you use for your microscope? They look great

Hiya - yeah, ended up treating with fmg. I’ve had horrors with costia in the past so rather be sure. The cases came with the microscopes 👍🏼 Thanks for watching buddy 😊

Use the Celestron microscope too for the same reason ….
I find it pretty good to be fair.

It is disconcerting that something that no one does in Japan is being spread around as if it were a matter of course. At this time of year, we report how familiar they are with their food and do not scoop up KOI into bowl so as not to disturb them.

If he’s got parasites surely it is better to get the koi out to get that sorted?

@@dom4955 In reality, in Japan, the focus tends to be on prevention by boosting immunity, as it is not customary to sell, buy or SHOW during the summer feeding period. Therefore, almost no one has a microscope at all times and does not scrape the surface of body.

Thanks for watching 😊 Erm…… I’m not in Japan and neither are my koi. They are in my pond and showing signs of parasitic infection. The koi are in an encapsulated body of water that is not replenished constantly over a short period therefore parameters have to be monitored and koi health monitored. What is disconcerting to you is maintaining to a hobbyist in the uk. Disconcerting would be a koi keeper who identifies an issue and leaves it 👍🏼👍🏼

@@edenkoipond We often prepare them in advance and leave them alone. Anyway, my honest impression is that not only you but other people involved in KOI in the UK touch and tinker with them too much. I don't see many people concentrating on feeding them properly. Besides, I don't think there's any way to prevent parasites if you're trading one KOI after another and adding one after another during the summer months as normal... Isn't that why you can't give up your microscope?
