What kind of adhesive do you use to glue the plastic "tops" on? I have an old rebuilt piano, but a few of the plastic tops (like you showed on the left) have come completely off and others are starting to come off, so I need to glue them back on.
You can still get ivory? I've heard that even old ivory is ILLEGAL to buy and sell. This video is from 2010. In 2016 they issued strict bans. Only ivory that was imported prior to Jan 1990 can African elephant ivory be sold in the US.
It is illegal to get new ivory. But you can get pre-ban. Some technicians rescue ivory from pianos before they're thrown away, and keep stockpiles. There are also other avenues to get legal pre-band ivory

Sorry the audio wasn't working. It was filmed quite a while ago. Thickness of the ivory really varies from piano to piano slightly.
Where did you buy the plastic keytops that you showed at 3:50? I saw kind of those on ebay...but I doubt about their quality. Thanks for your advices.

There's a new simulated ivory key top and front becoming increasingly more popular that may be an additional option for the discriminating pianist.

There are so many old pianos that get the ivory rescued from. Technicians keep them for future use, that is not illegal.
