When I first listened to this song, I was kinda skeptical, but once the solo started I fell in love with it. Morbid Angel has a way of doing it. It’s strange, how on a lot of their songs I won’t instantly cling to them and then I fall in love with everything about it.
@Bosko517 Was he was something other than Christian before? Judging by the Star of David I would venture a guess for Jewish, but 'Sandoval' doesn't sound like a Jewish last name.

I have rarely felt this way towards any band. I have a new found love for Morbid Fucking Angel. That solo on Dawn of the Angry (1:51) is otherworldly. They know what they captured in those few seconds, and it was fucking bliss. The world of metal is lucky to have this. Oh, and the lyrics to this song... well... I won't look too deep.
i can't believe i lived so long without hearing such excellence! i have been listening to this song for almost two hours straight with tremendous results. finding new great music that's old is a really awesome feeling!
This song is life. The sun will shine and WE will be angry. This music had been life for me for decades.much love for the creators and fellow fans. Thank you all. Support your law enforcement. If you don't eat shit.... In copious amounts.
I remember being eleven years old hearing this for the first time, as well as many other metal bands that I can not remember but wish I could because they were some of the most epic songs I've ever heard. After, I was exposed to the (Danzig era) misfits and life began. I only have slight memory of the names of the bands on the burnt CD my buddy gave to me to show off in my 7th grade music class. I will accomplish finding those other songs that have been a long lost treasure to me... eventually.
i remember holding an internship with a & m records when i was in highschool. if i recall it correctly, i had to catch the 105 westbound on vernon ave on to downtown greater los angeles in order to connect with a second bus that got me up to sunset blvd or near to it about maybe a block away. this was almost twenty-eight years ago. now, i am a man in my three years into my second score, lots ov drugs and alcohol in my young adult years and can't recall much ov them anymore, but i do remember looking at this DAT cassette. it had this artwork on it, but it was unfinished or some kind ov demo art that was xerox'd on regular office thinly cut dat-sized sheets folded over twice to, i guess, compensate for how fragile the paper would become after shifting the two to three hands it would be sent to, but it did not have lyrics or writing on it's inside fold because dats couldn't support prints that tiny i'm guessing? i closed the paper back into it's housing after retrieving the cassette. i don't even remember what i was s'posed to do with it, and being an urban kid from the hood, it was my first time having exposure in an uppity white office environment, so chances are i was not recording all that speedy efficient talk stuff, but i followed with my eyes as the white finger pointed to the play button on the machine. it was like nothing i had ever seen before and must have had a million buttons and knobs on it. the man indicated in combination ov another button or knob, but i wasn't catching everything due to the culture shock thing i had going on. all i wanted him to do was shut up and leave which occurred maybe ten seconds later. the room suddenly became very empty and the only sound i could hear beside my own breathing was that constant ringing we always have in our ears from electrical interference. it had an eject button, but it was in francois but, lucky for me, it was next to a red rec button, so i could relax and not worry about hitting something else or knowing where to find it.. i opened the door, and put it in. i kept playing the song over several times, but it was called DREAMING.. fuck. shit was scary but i kept repetitive it over and over again. thee artwork was a first ov any kind ov exposure as well; didn't even know it was evil. anyway.. time for bed
Would someone care to explain to me why so many Morbid Angel fans don't like Domination? It was my first Morbid Angel album and I happen to think it's both brutal as fuck and hauntingly beautiful in some places (Hatework, Caesar's Palace, Dreaming).
The first morbid angel song and album I ever heard. I needed some rage. This song fucking delivers. Not sure about the new stuff, it's different I'll give it that. This album's production was really fantastic in it's day, I should really give it another spin. I actually transcribed how to play most of the parts of this song at some point and still remember a lot of it, would anyone want a howto vid? Just putting it out there
It was 2001 and I was 19 years old when I kicked in someone's door, stole their car keys and then their car, got into a hit and run with 4 cop cars chasing me in Biloxi Mississippi with this song on repeat.

The colours on the cover are complementary ("opposite") colours. They are placed in a way to make the really important things stand out more like the MA logo
This one and Covenant are two masterpieces of dm scene. Cannibal Corpse is my all time favorite presenting the brutal side of dm. MA is more on the 'philosophic' area of the scene..!?
Erik rutan give the special touch on this album. And pete drums recover his style due back therapy and drums lessons. (Covenant is more punk style, listen good) he back to his form after blessed album.
this song is unreal: nice riff nice solos nice vocals nice all
Maaan, that first solo is a fucking goose bumps maker!
maintains the sludgy theme of the album, all of it was so innovative
My soul, the bloods flows in my heart
Nice
Don't forget the lyrics. Also awesome...
That groovy flow that they have is amazing, especially on the older records.
Arguably the best riff ever.
l fuckin love this \m/
Cassidy Carroll it is good but the best riff= Death - Low Life
this riff alone got me into morbid angel

That's Beelzubub the demon lord of flies on guitar 🎸
I try since decades how to explain this sound! That´s it! Thank you!
Great riffs, great solos, catchy, heavy - literally the blueprint for an amazing metal song.
fell in love in 1995 and i still get goosebumps in 2017
You and me both brother.
this song is a masterpiece! one of the best songs of Morbid Angel
212 tempo, double bass...they don't call him pete the feet for nothing.
I love Morbid Angel, but "wow, 212" is laughable

This sound is so primal and brutal and animalistic. Whatever they captured on this album is nothing short of a masterpiece.

This is the most underrated Morbid Angel album. This album took a while to grow on me but I think it is one of their best.

Cold finger on the Trigger, wise set of words for starting the song
Probably my favorite MA song. Vincent era was the best, the way he arranged the songs was the secret sauce.
Yes classic focused 90s vince was awesome but i dont think he arranged the music, trey did that with pete.

The problem is that the metalheads of the 90's were very closed-minded guys whose heads were filled with stereotypes.
