HEARTS 2024 Looks Back & Says Mahalo to the Honolulu City & County for their Support

HEARTS (Hawai‘i Education of the Arts) began in 2002 with a few children in a small choir, expanded quickly to include musical theatre and grew to over 100 by 2015 where it remained until 2020 when COVID reduced our membership and funds. In 2023 the Honolulu City & County infused HEARTS with a grant that enabled us to return to Palikū Theatre with the production of HONK! with 36 children. Because of the grant, we also began a program combining Reading and Singing for preschool children and those in the lower elementary grades who struggle with reading.. This year's production of "My Son Pinocchio" had a cast of 51 in grades K-12. Our videographer, Warren Kawamoto, made a video that reflects the past and encourages to look again towards the future with HEARTS.
