For people who are finding it difficult to grasp what Burna is saying in this song please allow me to explain it in the best way I possibly can. ' Common Person' talks about life and the ups and downs that come with it. It talks about love and unity and always being your brother's keeper. Whether we're rich or poor, high or low we all come from the same place and we should always treat each other with respect. I feel like this song is preaching a message that extends deeper than the words on the surface. It reminds us that love is the greatest force in the world and no matter where you've been or where you come from we're always one. That is why I love Burna so much. His songs always carry the greatest relatability. Whatever you're going through in life there's always a Burna song for you. If you're happy, sad or whatever it is there's always a Burna song for you. No other artist touches me as much as Burna does. He goes into my very soul. That is what music does💯💯❤️❤️
Thank you so much for translating. Truly appreciated. You just shared the love Burna is singing about. His voice is so calming. So soothing. God bless you both.

As a black man from Brazil, Burna's music touches my heart and soul, I feel myself connected with my nigerians brothers in the other side of the Ocean. It's more than a song, it's about roots, belonging, pride, Negritude (blackness), Panafricanism. "The message from Burna I believe would be, the every black person should please remember that : you're africans before you become anything else."

Somebody once said, " When you are happy, you enjoy the melody, when you are sad, you understand the lyrics."
This is so deep! 💯
Deep
the first instance of hearing the song It made me happy. the third time I heard it made me sad. realising that the common Nigerian man is suffering and smiling at the same time. excellent music!
Powerful
Literally experiencing both.
I'm a Zambian but I enjoy Nigerian songs so much..much love
Adwo
I’m not an African but I love this song ❤ When I listen to it I feel that Africa was born in me. You are great people. Respect
Love you too
Yez so beautiful and caring ❤
We love you ❤
It's in you, just let it out.
This comment brought tears in my eyes
Respect ma brother
This particular song is my favourite on the album. It speaks volumes cos at the end of the day, we are all common people irrespective of the power or authority we think we possess. This song is truly a great hit. Long Live Odogwu, much love from Ghana 🇬🇭.
Burna would love to see visuals of wild dreams also
I be common person from 254🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪 Sending love Across the world to everyone who hears this.. the African Giant did it again !!! #LoveDamini 💙💙💙
From south africa ❤❤❤❤
It’s how very much I relate with this video. I think I shed a tear when that family scene came up. My dad was a driver and it made me remember how he’d come back from work sometimes feeling down because his car broke down or developed some kind of fault. Rip dad🕊. It’s a beautiful video ❤
This made me shed a tear of joy! The humility, the rich culture and our lifestyle being portrayed in such a pleasing manner is so beautiful ❤thank you Burna , and a big thanks to all the creative minds behind this video ❤
Same I actually shed a tear … during the man’s narrative to his family on how Burna helped him.
Me too
I’m still crying 😢
My father is Kenyan and my mother is a white woman . I’ve grown up my whole life with my mom and recently met my father for the first time at 21 . I’m now 23. I’ve been trying to get in touch with my culture recently . I’ve always felt like something was missing and Burna Boy is helping me get there. Can’t wait to make my trip to Africa and meet my other family members and get in tune with my culture 🤍
karibu Kenya
Karibu, you will feel loved I can guarantee, I'm Rwandan but Kenya's are our cousin's, I can speak for them.
We look forward to welcoming you in Africa
wow we all love u ok
You’re welcome to africa
I discussed this song with a friend froma Philosophical point of view and it was interesting how Burna boy brings out the paradoxial meaning of being loved irrespective of fundamentals of life. The song also juxtaposes the essence of being accepted by your family, friends because you belong not because you have become. Most of us, we are accepted by our families, friends because we have BECOME not because we BELONG and its a sad a reality that we need to change. Also, from the song, we can also be an inspiration to others, lets be an epitome of home to all around us, and we all have a chance to inspire all people around us.
Absolutely.
Common person was the last song my mom played on her Bluetooth speaker before she died 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Continue to rest in peace ✌️ mommy 😭😭😭
sorry about that
Aww, may her soul rest in paradise ❤️❤️
RIP for your mom bro
Rest in peace Mama
Rest in peace 🕊️❤

Exactly
This right here is why I love Burna Boy. His lyrics on many counts are a revelation of us all. Some of the realest things about our humanity that we occasionally may overlook, deny or take for granted. We are all that common person in one way or another. Happiness in every circumstance is still ours to choose and hope is for us all. #RespectBurnaBoy
