Sara, an IT professional & Stephen a graphic designer and artist are world-traveling Canadians who dreamt of moving to Europe, and France in particular. In 2020 they were working from home when Stephen turned to Sara and popped the question she was longing to hear, “What would have to be true for us to buy a chateau in France?” They searched online for months viewing hundreds of properties. They narrowed their search and toured some properties when they happened upon the one that captured our hearts, Château de Saint-Germain-des-Prés. A year later they made the move to France to start their new adventure in our beautiful Château. They created “Manor and Maker” to reflect the two sides of their adventure. One, to live as chateau owners with all the ups and downs and two, to pursue their passions as makers, creating art in all its forms. They will invite others to come together, united by their passions, to share in this adventure. We invite you to join us too, as we bring our dreams to life. Welcome to Manor & Maker.

So pleased that you use 'Christmas' the true name for the event. I adore your nativity village and love that your adding to it each year is becoming a tradition. Oh, and the gently jazzed up 'Oh little town of Bethlehem'. Just lovely! xx
Your nativity village looks great, making your own buildings etc is so satisfying.
Love how crafty you guys are. Not only enjoying tradition, but adding to it.
Personally, I am so excited for your 2024 fireplace video. I played 2023 over and over each day. I loved it.
I told several people to check it out-- even a vlog channel here in Michigan that does 30 min. relaxation nature segments. I hope it adds to people's holiday atmosphere and to your revenue.
Great Christmas village, Steve and Sarah. Joyeux Noël! 🌲🌴🐪🐫🌴🌲
My Opa, a very devout man from Bavaria, had carved a whole Krippe (creche) for my Mom. It included the village backdrop, a starry sky (of course), many sheep and shepherds, the three wise men, and the holy family. We treasured that, and putting it up every year was so memorable. Your Santon made me feel warm and fuzzy. Joyeux Fetes de Noel.
Dexter is adorable. The new buildings you made are great.
Just a note to let you know how much I enjoy your videos, especially at the Christmas holidays.
Thank you!
Delightful village and creations.
So very nice to see you adding to the Santons!! I love that tradition you’re starting! … At Christmas you can go crazy over the top decorating and everyone one loves it!
‘Tis the season…. Enjoy!
Thank you for sharing your daily life with us❤🎄❤️🎄❤️
My heart is with you, having carried home to the US, parts and pieces of my Santon crèche at various times too. It is such fun, as there are so many more pieces than most nativities have.
I hope you enjoy yours as much as we do. Happy holidays to you.
It’s just beautiful. How fun to create more pieces. We had a similar scene set up on our mantle when I was a child, the figures were my grandparents who immigrated from Italy to the US. My father built a manger from scrap wood and in the basement of the house he found what he called “ clinkers “ they were the residuals of coal burning . He made mountains with them around the manger . I looked forward to seeing them every year. Thank you for sharing your creative beauty.
Love the villages’ new buildings!
Very busy village ! Merry Christmas !
That is a stunning fireplace.
Love the village, it has really developed this year.❤
so wonderful - a feast for the eyes and the heart ❤👏🎄✨🎀
I always enjoy your choice of music! ♥️
I enjoy your videos-
I love creating and what you’re fostering to bring out the Artist in us.
Bless you both
I think you did a good job with the clay! Love your village!
Hi Sarah and Steve,
Your village looks great! What a great tradition! Elizabeth in Texas
Your nativity village is so fun! I love how you made your own buildings for it!
I love the crafts, they are sweet and make it your own tradition. TFS 😊
Love the new buildings
I think it looks GREAT!
Beautiful!
Love your Christmas decorations ❤❤❤❤❤
Great Christmas scene. Well done Steve and Sarah 🎄😊
Thank you very much
I've never heard of Foreo! Going to try it out.
Beautiful guy’s 🎄❄️🎄
Lovely 🥰🇨🇦
Looks fun & festive. 🎄
Cute.
lovely Stantons thank you
Joyeux Noel!🎄
I don't think I'd be able to do any better. Anyway, the slightly wonky, rustic look is all part of the charm...
Merry Christmas Steve & Sarah from Wisconsin -USA
Merry Christmas to you as well. Stay warm this winter.
I didnt see Sarah's clay building, did I miss it? I loved that, kind of adobe. I also love the ones you made with the 3D printer. So cool. I think that could be the basis for some commerce, if it isnt already. I didnt catch the history of the figures- they look vintagey. From France?
Hi Sara and Steve, love the decorations. If you don’t mind me asking is it draughty or cold having your sitting area in the large open area . 😘🇨🇮
I love that you are making more. Buildings.
I love your village….it’s beautiful…I couldn’t do as well. You both always do a fantastic job job ❤❤🌠
I Ike your village. Very nice.
It is beautiful 😍
Looking amazing such a lovely tradition well done😊
Thats fantastic happy advent
To you as well!
Very nice! Where are the angels?... and the drones?
If these are Portuguese -- I'm guessing -- that man under the tree holding both arms up is dancing the classic folk dance and he needs a partner!
Merry Christmas to you both!
Same to you! And all the best for 2025!
I love the new-old clay buildings! ♥️♥️♥️ They really go with everything else. 👍
The wood ones are nice too, but if you have time (ha, I know) to paint them in the future, they can still flat-pack, but meld better with the aesthetic of the rest. Don’t think of it as “paint by numbers;” think more along the lines of hand-tinted photos. 🙂
Another enjoyable video.
🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲🌹
I haven't heard that word "Santon" -- I have simiilar figures. I call them my Portuguese Nativity Scene. So many Portuguese people live here in Canada and every year I used to go to the neighbourhood hardware stores to add to my collection. I don't know why HARDWARE stores carried them -- Portuguese owner? Anyway I have a huge collection, rather fragile because they are plaster not wood or ceramic. I love them and it's fun to see yours all set up!
That’s very interesting. The santons are a traditional collection started in Provence in the south of France. Maybe there is a connection to Portugal? Thanks for sharing.
I think you could sell the buildings you’ve created Steve 🎉
❤Hello. From Minnesota. USA
Steve, I think you would enjoy the TH-cam channel, Samcraft
Does Dexter ever bark? Does he like living at the Cheatue?
He does bark but only to communicate. He loves the chateau and the grounds.
👍🏻
Merry Christmas. 🎄❤️✝️🤠
Merry Christmas and all the best in 2025
🎄🇨🇦
Please say you didn't throw out the clay building & mini-church. They seemed to fit in with the rest just fine. Don't be so critical of your crafts. I wish I was still working full-time at an office, s I would like to get the 3 chateau posted and display them. Good conversation starter and nice networking for your collectives. Healthy and safe 2025 to all !!!
Also-- the laser wood reindeer & sleigh I have noticed at your friends chateau segments and their episodes got me thinking. At the start of Advent, could you send a treat or a Christmas character to each chateau, and they make a segment about adding that item to the sleigh. After 5+ years the sleigh would be filled with: elf, snowman, sled, doll, tin soldier, puppy dog, kitty, bell, ball, etc. Might add to the cross-marketing and look really cute??? Just a thought.
you look like Rudolph the red nosed reindeer. How Christmassy.
Enjoyed the video - you both are so talented. I want to bring something to your attention and I'm not being "insulting or rude" but you might want to clean the headrest of the right chair ..it shows up as "yellow and soiled" - I know you don't want that this way on the video...
We appreciate the comment and will take a look at it. Thanks and merry Christmas
My sister did a scene with 1000 characters! Stream with real water and fish pond! Aloof rocks and moss! Backdrop with sky scene! All amazing like yours!
