FoodforThought lol are you literally commenting on everyone’s post and talking down to them, to make your miserable life feel better? How unbelievably pathetic.
That's not true. In the post underneath this one FoodforThought is laughing WITH Istebrak. And he's kind of right about Alex's post; the word 'genius' is being bandied about so much these days that its losing it's true meaning. Commencing an interview with a fake laugh is not genius. But I like it!
well... just be sure that you don’t appropriate that laugh for yourself unless, of course, you’re rich/spoilt AND white. That way we can keep all the labels for everyone juuuuust right.
Maybe it helps to know that initiating a bit of laughing takes away the nervousness at the beginning of a conversation. It's an actor's trick to get in the right mindset.
As someone from Donegal in Ireland I can tell you that a lot of people outside of Dublin find the Dublin accent very grating. There are much nicer Irish accents than a Dubs accent.
Both her parents are from Dublin, she lived in Dublin when she was very young, moved to Carlow for a few years, and lived in Dublin from her early teens. Of course she's been travelling all over the place since she was young for work, so a big influence from her parents accent wise would be inevitable.
At last Saoirse Ronan with her idol Kristen Wiig ,I think Saoirse Ronan must act more in comedy movies.Everyone loves cheerful Saoirse Ronan .There is true life in both these actors
Saoirse Ronan is next Meryl Streep of Hollywood, next all time great actress for her roles and pure natural acting .Ronan might get a minimum of 15 oscars nominations , and for sure minimum 2 oscar wins
Raghavendra Prasad I agree! I loved all the movies I've seen of her. Since she was a child her acting in Atonement was brilliant. She deserves the Oscar for Lady bird.
I have had the honour of meeting Saoirse Ronan not once but twice. The first time was in 2012 in Belfast at a Cinemagic event. From that I had a signed copy of Hanna. The second time was in 2019 when she hosted a Q&A. Having met her on two occasions I can say that not only is she a very talented and gifted actress but also a very lovely, genuine and modest human being.
A lot of these Actors on Actors pairings are so well done. This duo looks like it could produce an amazing mother daughter film with powerful chemistry
@@dachshund_gaming dude she's not even a comedian. I'm not sure if she's even done any standup. She has an improv background and is a comedy actress. No need to be snarky.
so cool to see after Saoirse interview about Kristen Wiig being her favorite performer from SNL. I'm loving this trend of SNL fans being able to interview other SNL alums. Like Emma Stone and Molly Shannon from last year
been following Saoirse's career since she was a child, gotta say she seems so much more at ease and relaxed in interviews now. she's grown into such a charming and poised woman!! and i love me some Wiig... an unlikely pair but I'm into it
I'm so happy Kristen is playing Cheetah in Wonder Woman 84. It's high time her dramatic/"serious" acting got the equal recognition as her comedy. As iconic as her comedic acting is, I feel her talent in other genres of acting doesn't get enough exposure. I'm sure she's masterful in all forms of acting.
And I absolutely cannot wait to watch Mary, Queen of Scots. I hope Variety does another Actors on Actors with Saiorse and Margot Robbie...or both together so they can reminisce and share experience of working together in a historical film.
A great conversation with Saoirse and Kristen. After watching this I watched saoirse and kate winslet in the video two years ago on variety. So she got the ladybird part after brooklyn.
Really great vid and great pairing...love these two! Two real, multi talented talents! Saoirse, you are doing us proud! You both obviously respect each other! Loved watching this!
one of the things that made saoirse my favorite actress, were her roles weren't the stereotypical female role. i had no idea who she was. saw lovely bones, it always stuck out in my mind for it's wild artistic nature. then i saw hannah, and was blown away by it. city of ember came 3rd. n violet n daisy. then i started to realize, holy crap, this is the same girl, and i really have enjoyed all these films...i had no idea the girl that was in lovely bones was the same girl in hannah, or city of ember. they were artistic, and innocent, but extremely well done and interesting. with diversity that is hard to find in an actress. city of ember still one of my favorite movies. hannah, violet and daisy, lovely bones, grand budapest hotel, the way back, lost river, the host... shes changed the last 5 or 6 years. n has left the unique quality she once had that made me really look forward to her films. its all romance now. and i get it. it seems like shes trying to nail the romance genre. but for guys like me that don't sexually objectify her, its left me feeling lost in the sort of release her films were offering. a breath of fresh air. now choked by the stigmata of sexual appetite that ruins. shes is maturing, more womanly...everyone changes, everyone loses that innocence. i had an idea for a time traveler movie, that i think saoirse would be sensatiable in. its derived around my own original physics theories for time travel. but i'm not a writer. however, when ever i imagine the film its her as the character. n i'd love to see this performance. i've watched every time travel movie, n its nothing out there like it. except a few similarities to certain other movies.but every movie will have a similarity
I love Saoirse Ronan. She's an absolute gem, an amazing person, actress and a very proud Irish person as well! I know a lot of people especially Irish people, make fun of her because of her accent. She was born in Dublin, and raised in Carlow but has a Dublin accent. That's because her parents and most of family speak with a Dub accent, so she'll pick that up and speak like that. It's the same for me. My dad is from Northern Ireland, but I was raised in the South, yet I speak with a Northern twang. It's because I hear his accent, and my family's accent, so I'll speak like that because it's what I'm used to hearing, even though I was raised in the south. My mother is from the South but she doesn't have a strong accent.
Hate to burst your bubble...she was born in New York, but moved to Dublin with her parents and then moved to Carlow hence why her Dub accent is so strong. You're right about her parents from Dublin though which influenced how she speaks
It's because She holds back.. When she's at home Her Accent is allot Stronger...I think while in the US She is aware that Ppl have to really understand Her
Saoirse Ronan is clearly one of the great talents right now. She has that quality that the great ones have; I'm not sure what it is, she just has it. Read the book "Brooklyn" and then watch Saoirse in the movie: just fantastic.
To everyone that hasn't seen Brides Maids........... watch it !! It's a chick flick. But, men shouldn't be scared away because it is so fucking funny !! The same with Lady Bird. That movie is heart wrenching !! Good job on both of these actors great careers. Sincerely, a guy that is very discerning about movies. Frank (New York City).
My boyfriend feel asleep with bridesmaids :( its sad because its one of my fav comedy movies but i guess that because it was all ladies he didnt gave it a chance.. :/
Finally an interview that doesnt solely talk about Saoirse's name
Brooke Ashley just remember it's IR not OR.
Brooke Ashley bless.
The fake laugh intro is genius.
simple things for simple minds i guess
FoodforThought lol are you literally commenting on everyone’s post and talking down to them, to make your miserable life feel better? How unbelievably pathetic.
FoodforThought Shut up
That's not true. In the post underneath this one FoodforThought is laughing WITH Istebrak. And he's kind of right about Alex's post; the word 'genius' is being bandied about so much these days that its losing it's true meaning. Commencing an interview with a fake laugh is not genius. But I like it!
Lawrence Clark, so glad to have your thoughts on the matter.
- 'how are you?'
- 'nice boots'
basically how everyone of my conversations start
best start to an interview
I burst out laughing with them in the beginning, for no reason... 😆
amanda it’s not a warm up, it’s them making fun of fake women who do that.
OMFG. That rich white people laugh in the beginning really caught me off guard. I spilled my milk all over. LMAO
lol
It sound more like sarcastic Mean Girls laugh. But that is also rich white teenagers right?
well... just be sure that you don’t appropriate that laugh for yourself unless, of course, you’re rich/spoilt AND white. That way we can keep all the labels for everyone juuuuust right.
Maybe it helps to know that initiating a bit of laughing takes away the nervousness at the beginning of a conversation. It's an actor's trick to get in the right mindset.
it genuinely scared me 😂 reminded me of Chandler's work laugh 😂
I love Saoirse's observation about woman in comedy who compose their own work around the middle of this interview. Very perceptive.
I love how Saoirse got bridemaids reference in the interview
"when you're growing you're changing" haha. she's such a big fan
Saoirse's accent is so gorgeous
CrazyMonkey1208 her Dublin,Ireland accent
As someone from Donegal in Ireland I can tell you that a lot of people outside of Dublin find the Dublin accent very grating. There are much nicer Irish accents than a Dubs accent.
funny since she grew up in county Carlow that she has a working class north dublin accent
Both her parents are from Dublin, she lived in Dublin when she was very young, moved to Carlow for a few years, and lived in Dublin from her early teens. Of course she's been travelling all over the place since she was young for work, so a big influence from her parents accent wise would be inevitable.
That's true. I find her accent quite harsh. I'm from Britain.
At last Saoirse Ronan with her idol Kristen Wiig ,I think Saoirse Ronan must act more in comedy movies.Everyone loves cheerful Saoirse Ronan .There is true life in both these actors
Whoever suggested this pairing is a genius. I didn't even watch it yet. I just clicked on it. Will watch now.
Saoirse Ronan is next Meryl Streep of Hollywood, next all time great actress for her roles and pure natural acting .Ronan might get a minimum of 15 oscars nominations , and for sure minimum 2 oscar wins
saoirse is the irish Kate winslet
Raghavendra Prasad I agree! I loved all the movies I've seen of her. Since she was a child her acting in Atonement was brilliant. She deserves the Oscar for Lady bird.
Raghavendra Prasad Yes, you are probably right.
Saoirse Ronan is not Irish Meryl Streep, or Kate Winslet. She's an original, and she's amazing.
Saoirse is overrated
Saoirse Ronan is one of the greatest actresses EVER. At a very young age too. In Atonement. She’s incredible. Talented. Unlike any other.
there is so much love in kristen wiig's eyes as saoirse speaks and i honestly relate!!
These two women are incredible. Kristen Wiig is such an inspiration to me, I love her work. And Saoirse is a star to keep your eye on.
Saoirse’s pupils are huge in this interview! Proves just how big a fan of Kristen’s she is, as she’s said multiple times.
Great interview, felt like I was a fly on the wall listening to two people developing a new great friendship.
This one could go on for two hours and I would still watch the whole thing! So lovely.
I know how much saoirse loves Kristin and I love them both so win win win!!!
Christopher Frederick call me 1347 546 1072
Christopher Frederick
Eeww
their chemistry is amazing
I could listen to Soairse talk all day. Love the accent.
Saoirse could literally punch a child and I would applaud her and find a way to compliment it
She'd be so graceful with it.
Yeah I would have her arrested
Zarar Afridi I’d bail her out
I would hope they’ll give her an Oscar for punching a child.
Lmfao
Kristen Wiig doesn't age at all. I love her so much.
She’s so caught on, she’s a treasure!
She looks her age lmfao
Okay so when is the Wiig/Ronan collaboration movie coming out? I thought I needed it before but now it's essential for the world.
Saoirse................this girl is beyond her actual age I am impressed. I am about to go back and watch all of her movies!
A lot of these Actors on Actors pairings are so well done. This duo looks like it could produce an amazing mother daughter film with powerful chemistry
Kristen is my favourite comedian. She's fuckin' awesome. I love them both.
thegossipswan009 holy shit watch more standup if Wiig is your favorite comedian
Jacob Harris wiig is amazing
@@dachshund_gaming dude she's not even a comedian. I'm not sure if she's even done any standup. She has an improv background and is a comedy actress. No need to be snarky.
I swear me a Saoirse said "if you're growing, you're changing" at the exact same time omg i love them both so much
I love what Saoirse is wearing.
No joke. My two absolute favourite fucking actresses. By a mile. THIS IS AMAZING.
why do you have to swear. Get some class
Milly Borkovic - Exactly. Please stop being one
FoodforThought wow, you used an “I know you are, but what am I?!” comeback... how childish and sad for you.
Wendigo Heart I love you
omg this whole thing xDD
I keep rewatching the first 25 seconds over and over and over
I needed this today. Thanks, Saoirse and Kristen.
Imagine saoirse's fangirling moment before and after doing this with kristen. Many of her interviews she would directly say how much she loves wiig
One of the best actors on actors. This conversation was so insightful!
I LOVE THIS INTERVIEW!
so cool to see after Saoirse interview about Kristen Wiig being her favorite performer from SNL. I'm loving this trend of SNL fans being able to interview other SNL alums. Like Emma Stone and Molly Shannon from last year
been following Saoirse's career since she was a child, gotta say she seems so much more at ease and relaxed in interviews now. she's grown into such a charming and poised woman!! and i love me some Wiig... an unlikely pair but I'm into it
I need a mother/daughter comedy with Saoirse and Kate Winslet, tbh.
RamCyrus yesss
YES
now they are playing lovers lol
Lets ship this! 🤣 🤣
I once though if they remake Titanic, this Saoirse will play that Rose for Kate
it is charming how much they like each other and admire each other's work. you can feel the love in the room
HOW DELIGHTFUL.
I'm so happy Kristen is playing Cheetah in Wonder Woman 84. It's high time her dramatic/"serious" acting got the equal recognition as her comedy. As iconic as her comedic acting is, I feel her talent in other genres of acting doesn't get enough exposure. I'm sure she's masterful in all forms of acting.
i just watched the skeleton twins and she's really great! can't wait to see her in WW84, i've been waiting if DC's gonna drop any teaser at NYCC
This was a pleasant surprise to watch! I love these two individually too. Thanks Variety!!!
And I absolutely cannot wait to watch Mary, Queen of Scots. I hope Variety does another Actors on Actors with Saiorse and Margot Robbie...or both together so they can reminisce and share experience of working together in a historical film.
LiVeLiKeURdying2 They only do these with actors that haven't work together.
Nothing wrong with changing it up a bit! :) #somethingnew
It's not the best movie but damn Saoirse is AMAZING in it
Koi Pond No they don't ,that's not a rule .
i love how they both have the same sense of humour
Saoirse Ronan so composed, refined and a beautiful, brillant actress, she's going places!
A great conversation with Saoirse and Kristen. After watching this I watched saoirse and kate winslet in the video two years ago on variety. So she got the ladybird part after brooklyn.
I could listen to Saoirse talk for hours with her accent.
Saoirise's accent is everything. 🖤😍 I love her.
I LOVE both of them- great choice putting them together.
Such a wonderful interview. I love both of them.
so happy for Saoirse ....she loves Kristen's acts
life can only go downhill from this moment onwards
unless their buddy comedy movie is in the works!
Wow Saiorse has been on twice! That's amazing
Magnificent duo. Thank you for this interview, Variety!
I need a another full hour of this please
THAT LAUGH IN THE BEGINNING LMAOOI
My two favorite actresses interviewing each other! Such a great conversation!
saoirse is so smart. we really need more interviews with her that aren't about her name
Thank-you ladies. You are two of my very favorite artists.
saoirse looks amazing
Saoirse is mesmerising on screen and off. Both such great actors.
I love how Saoirse got 'feck' passed the censors! :D
I don't know which one I love more. Brooklyn was touching. KW is genius. Such talented and beautiful women.
The start to an interview lol 😂ClAsSiC!
2 of the most beautiful talented women in the world!!!!
They’re both so pretty I just cant
It could only open that way. Kristen is my fav actress in all Hollywood
I would love to see another one with Saoirse and Timothee!
Really great vid and great pairing...love these two! Two real, multi talented talents! Saoirse, you are doing us proud! You both obviously respect each other! Loved watching this!
It's actually lovely to Kristen being so real. She never really does it in late night interviews.
I think she's better suited to more intimate conversations without a studio audience watching and gawking.
Great pairing! Kristen and Saoirse are both brilliant actresses
They are both just so smart and beautiful people.
Hands down best start to an interview ever
MY TWO FAVORITE ACTRESSES!
Im definitely looking forward to anything saoirse's going to do in the future
Both gorgeous and unbelievably talented
Wiig is serving us Suze Orman realness with her hair-do, girlfriend!
The first few seconds of them laughing made me laugh 😂
2 amazing actresses one amazing video
The laugh in the beginning tho hahaha I cant help but laugh too😂

Actors on actors: sole reason I'm watching Variety
at last. been waiting for this interview
Best opening of any of these interviews!
Saoirse Ronan is clearly one of the great talents right now. She has that quality that the great ones have; I'm not sure what it is, she just has it. Read the book "Brooklyn" and then watch Saoirse in the movie: just fantastic.

Mindy Elise Grayson. Hilarious!
Lovely conversation between lovely actresses! ♡♡
saoirse is just SO pretty
Oh my goodness, I love them both so much! Talented, smart and adorable. An awesome couple. Very cool. :)
