So Burton's Penguin is basically nothing like the comics Penguin. In the comics, Oswald Cobblepot does come from an affluent Gotham family, so he's much less of a horrible sewer goblin, and more of a mob boss. He comes to power by filling the vaccuum left after Batman successfully dissolves the original mobs of Gotham in his first year. He's had quirkier gimmicks in his history, usually involving penguin-themed vehicles or tech, as well as an arsenal of umbrella weapons, and has even eaten a raw fish or two. Modern Penguin doesn't have as many silly quirks, but is more of a serious gangster, using his vast wealth and army of goons to run Gotham's underworld from his base of operations, a floating casino named The Iceberg Lounge.
He's also very intelligent. Smart enough to know that if he's useful to Batman in regards to taking down worse criminals, then he can live a very comfortable life
The cat suit would basically vacuum seal itself to Michele Pfeifer's body. She couldn't wear it too long without suffocating. George, nice Love Sandwich reference.

To this day this is still my favorite live action Batman movie of all time. It's the perfect balance of being serious but also not being afraid to be over the top at times. Lastly no other film brought the gothic nature of Batman's world to life the way Tim Burton did with his 2 movies
I feel like this movie has what might be the best on-screen representation of the Bruce(Batman)/Selina(Catwoman) relationship. That moment at the masquerade ball was a tantalizing taste of what could have been.
The most unbelievable part of this film is that a populist politician was outed for doing something terrible and his supporters turned on him instead of just excusing it and continuing to support him.
"She's like a zombie..." Specifically, a revenant (an undead fueled by revenge). I love revenant Catwoman and sewer monster Penguin. Making them into gothic horror monsters is so brilliant and such fantastic takes on the characters.
Technically "revenant" comes from the same word as "return", so it has nothing to do with revenge but rather just coming back from the dead. But it's okay...I've been (mis)using the word as the same too cuz it's just a more interesting concept.
@@JasonKreider-eq8kp I like to think that having only one life left after killing Shrek broke her 'curse'. So now she's mortal again and still out there.
@@brianvalencia7717 Oh yeah, none of this is comic book lore. Tim Burton and his scriptwriter cooked all this up. Catwoman traditionally is just a sexy jewel thief. Similarly, Penguin is usually not some kind of man-monster, but simply a fat mob boss who resembles a penguin and has a thing for umbrellas. As silly as the old Adam West Batman TV series was, its conception of the two villains was closer to the original comic book idea. You have to see Burgess Meredith waddling around with his top hat and monocle going MWACK MWACK MWACK.
Fun fact that makes sense once you know: In one of the writer's earlier drafts, Shreck was discovered to be the Penguin's older brother, the "Golden Boy" of the Cobblepot Family, whereas the Penguin was the deformed outsider. Shreck was supposedly ashamed of his father, after he threw his baby brother into the sewer, and he emancipated himself from the Cobblepot Family as soon as he came of age. This may have resulted in him being cut off from his family fortune, thus forced to make his own as mentioned above. Knowing that, makes the whole "First born son" thing all the heavier.
Gotham is notorious for being an unsafe crime ridden place in the comics, so yeah. People in-universe very much comment on it. The intractable crime of Gotham is pretty central to Batman’s story, and that of many other characters.
I had a friend who was an FX artist that worked on this film. She was part of the team that built the rocket backpacks for the penguins. She was also had the job of putting them on the penguins. One of the things she figured out was that the harnesses that fit the big Emperor penguin puppets would also fit her, leading to the FX crew to have crew T-shirts made, Batman 2; Penguins in Bondage.
I've said it before, and I'm going to say it again, the next Batman things you two should definitely watch are Batman Mask of the Phantasm and Batman The Animated Series. Both feature Kevin Conroy as my favorite Batman and Mark Hamill as my favorite Joker. The movie and the series are two of the best Batman media to ever come out. Both pull you into the tough choices Batman has to make, and both are intense, adventurous, and dripping in that brooding gloom that people love about Batman. Batman Mask of the Phantasm and Batman the Animated Series are so much worth watching.
The best Catwoman performance of all time ,,,,, that scene where she "flic-flacs" towards the camera and says "" Meow"" just before the explosion , with that bitter look on her face is outstanding amazing , one of the most memorable moments in the Batman film repertoire ....and in cinema in general .....
The first one was Tim Burton on a leash held by the studio, but since it money they let him do whatever he wanted in this one, so yeah, the penguin and catwoman are nothing like this in the comics, origins wise that is. Despite all that, I still think this one is a lot better.
The letter bringing monkey attacked Danny Devitos privates (True story by Devito himself) he laughed and said something long the line "thank god for all the leyers of the costume😅"😂(It has been a while when I saw that interwiev)
I saw this in the theater when it came out and they were giving out pins to everyone, one of which was a yellow duck. Imagine our confusion waiting to find out what it was for. XD
I'm a Keaton/90s Batman Animated Series guy. Somewhere along the line, watching Keaton's Batman horrified that his Batmobile is destroying cars and property on the roads unintentionally became standard operating procedure in the Bale Bat-tank version b/c they were simply in his way and the "zomg that was total awesomeness bruh" factor. Full disclosure: But i can't really fault it. I'm not sure when Batman started using massive bombs to take down big guys. Watching the Batmobile pop mini-guns and seeing Batman fire guns and rockets at the Joker in the first one was probably the start of the downward spiral. I just keep telling myself, "Alternate universe." It's the only excuse that keeps fans sane watching the difference between the comics, movies, cartoons, etc. Like my father said, "My Batman isn't your Batman." Love the channel!
Believe it or not, it was the lady with the poodle that got my attention as a kid in the theater. Something was so ghostly but sexy about her that I had an absolute crush on her when I was 12. I think I still have a crush, lol!
When this movie came out, it had mixed reviews from various corners. I saw it the second weekend of its release. But, every single friend of mine had one thing in common in their review.... Michelle Pfeiffer was HOT. 😂
The Catwoman origin is new to the movie although if you watched the Catwoman movie you’ve seen the result of WB executives insisting that cat resurrection is an essential part of her story.
Ever since 1989, I haven't missed one Batman film in the theater. I remember this being a very fun time at the movies. I was about 10 years old. I remember getting one of the happy meals before McDonald's pulled them because of all the whimpy kids and even whimpier parents who couldn't handle it.
I watched this in the cinema when I was 12.... yup... Also, Batman didn't have security on the Bat mobile because he never thought people would be in a position to do what Penguin did. Overconfidence is something that this Batman suffers from a lot. I don't think Selina has "powers" as such, she's just a human who went nuts after barely surviving an attemped murder by her boss. Great movie, great reaction! Don't bother with the others though, this is the shark jump.
I feel like it's a bunch of myths about animal spirits possessing people kinda cobbled together to insinuate that her soul was possessed by the cats or changed into a cat's soul which she already had a high affinity to cats in the first place so they gave her their "power". It's a similar underlining motive or concept to The Crow. But then again the fall causing some brain trauma and changing her personality is not unheard of either and is known to cause some rather extreme behavior changes immediately or shortly afterward sometimes even permanently after happening. Since it's a movie they may have half thrown in a fugue state as well which is normally when a person loses most of their memory temporarily and create a random new identity from whatever information is left. All of their normal background history could be wrong in this state. House, street, age, gender, career, trips and even state they live in could be wrong.
9:55 - If Selina Kyle DOES have a superpower, it has GOT to be the inhuman ability to sew a perfectly-fitted, skin-tight, asymmetrical, pleather catsuit, without a pattern, on the first try!
In the 2004 Catwoman movie they get more in detail on what happened to Selena. Creatures like cats or crows are able to bring souls back from the underworld. If you remember in the Brendan Fraser mummy movie the mummy was afraid of cats because they were the guardians of the underworld.
Nowadays, MP would've won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress. Sublime. If you want more Michelle watch her run around NYC with George Clooney in One Fine Day (1996).
Michelle Pfeiffer is the best Catwomen. She whipped the heads off the mannequins for real, and in one take, There is footage of that scene/moment being filmed and everyone claps for her afterwards.
As iconic and cool as the shot is of the bat-signal shining through Bruce Wayne's office on him, it does beg the question of whether or not he covers those light-signals when he has guests over. I mean, the first movie establishes that he hosts big galas for Gotham's elite, and in this movie he invites Selina Kyle over for an evening together. If the Commissioner lights the signal, and those things activate while company is over, Bruce has hella explaining to do lol.
Danny DeVito's acting, and makeup by legends Stan Winston, Ronnie Specter, and Ve Neill (who was also responsible for Burton's Edward Scissorhands), make this Penguin so spectacular. Funny sometimes, disgusting sometimes, and actually extremely scary when he needed to be. [edit, after 28:30] If this were to have been a Batman / Catwoman only film, the plot would need to be very different. The way this was set up, Catwoman's main reason for being anti-Batman is because of the entanglement of the Penguin. Her moral ambiguity pulled her between villain and anti-hero. As George very astutely observed from the poster: Catwoman sits between Batman and Penguin. It was that pull in either direction that made her story rather compelling. Without that element (that I don't feel that Schreck alone would have filled; his villain's role was not to the same level as Penguin. Batman needs more colorful adversaries) the moral ambiguity would not have had the same impact. IMHO. I agree that I would have liked to have seen more of Selina's story. But as it played out, I feel it worked as it should have done. She had a vendetta against Max, and fulfilled it. Too much more would have complicated things. Tim Burton's direction for this film made it just as good as the first one. Maybe even a little more over the top, but it still worked. He declined to participate in a third, and further installments in this franchise were famously never nearly as good. Different actors in the Bat-suit, different directors at the helm, theoretically all still in the same universe and continuity, but they went far afield after this. Only loyal old Alfred (Michael Gough) stuck around.
One of the things I've seen/heard is the idea that the masked vigilante/superhero (I believe it typically is specifically Batman) actually CAUSES the rise of crime and supervillains because of their presence. The more outlandish and powerful the hero, the more outlandish and powerful the villain(s).
One of my favorite Batman: The Animated Series episodes deals with this. Even without the Caped Crusader's interference, most of his Rogues Gallery would still be criminals.
That "Meow." is one of the great moments in cinematic history. Overall this movie is astoundingly good. It took me a long time, and the state of modern Hollywood to realise what genius this was. So many things ordinary people just can't come up with, such great casting and acting. Brilliant.
Recent comics have actually called out how terrible gotham is. It actually inspires people to move into gotham to prove that if they can make it there, they can make it anywhere.
The tazer she took from the clown was still on her. So every time the cats were touching her or moving her slightly they were activating the tazer which was shocking her back to life. She had the same tazer when she took out Max Shrek.
Very close. He technically says "old town" (referencing an old song), while Selena does indeed say "cold town." It was certainly a reference/callback, regardless.
8:00 - "About how the power plant instead of generating power it'll sort of be sucking power..." Max Schrek's evil plan is to suck the lifeblood (electricity) out of Gotham. Max Schreck was the name of the actor who played the vampire in Nosferatu (1922). Max Schreck, incidentally, was the visual reference artist C. C. Beck used when he created Doctor Sivana, one of the archenemies of Captain Marvel. Just a little comics history trivia for you.
After Actress Sean Young was turned down for the role of Catwoman, she went on the Joan Run version show in catwoman costume in full character. It was bizarre.
I’m straight and I can say that Michelle Pfieffer’s Catwoman awoke things in many of us! She also looked gorgeous in the masquerade scene. And the Batman movies only get sillier from here!
The whipping scene with the mannequins was Pfeiffer herself and she did it in the first take. There is a making off video of the shooting and everybody erupts in cheering because of how amazing that first take was.
I think, to some extent, the idea was to give Catwoman a form of borderline personality disorder. So after she falls and injures her head, and has a mysterious moment of being revived by the cats, she fixates on and absorbs the personality of the cats, including the idea that she has 9 lives. Obviously there's something mystical going on, that's not explained, because at one point when she screams in anger she breaks the glass in a greenhouse. It's mysterious, dramatic, and ... doesn't need explanation.
When Michelle Pfeiffer was pulling out her whip in the mall after hours scene, it was done within one take. She killed it because the whip made her feel so powerful.
From what I recall, the dog thing in ww2 was stopped pretty much straight after the initial phase of training.... They trained them with their own tanks, when they were put in the field with explosives, they ran to the tanks they were familiar with 😂😂
I have not seen your reaction yet.. in a couple of minutes.. I just want to say that Batman Returns imo is the most Tim Burton movie of all his movies.
This movie was considered too dark for younger audiences that Warner Brothers basically got rid of Burton for the next two movies by they hire a director that could make it more "family friendly"
Michelle Pfeiffer has always been one of my favourites. She was an all-rounder for a decade before taking the Selena Kyle role, working with no less than Brian De Palma and Jonathan Demme along with Connery, Pacino, Gibson, Goldblum, and BOTH Bridges ...
I literally just recommended the Fabulous Baker Boys when I saw this comment. I almost never see people reference that movie, even though I think both Bridges give great performances with her in it.
1:58 That's Paul Reubens, aka Pee-Wee Herman. At 2:07 that Paul Reubens and Diane Salinger--Diane played the role of "Simone" in _Pee-Wee's Big Adventure_ .
Most younger people get this movie so wrong. They forget it's based on comic book and never aknowledged that BurtonVerse Batman is in the fantasy genre. Almost no one ever gets that Catwoman is not antagonist, she's neither hero or villain, she is a CAT in human body. The Cats resurrected her from death (and gave her cat abilities), because it's fantasy. It's not necessary for everything to be explained. To have imagination and logic will do the job. Also, the gadgets and tech of Penguin look silly and ridiculous because they are from abandoned zoo-circus, just like his henchmen. And that's why there are penguins in Gotham (sewers).
"I can smell his breath".. I dont remember seeing him for the first time (I was a child) but the one time I do remember feeling like that was with Heath's Joker
I like the interpretation of Catwoman that there's nothing supernatural that happens with her. When she was pushed out the window, she goes through a few awnings, which break her fall enough that she survives. The cats aren't reviving her, but she wakes up because of the pain of them gnawing on her. From here, she's in shock (hence the zombie-like aspects to her movements), leading to a mental breakdown, which causes her to change her entire personality due to the near-death experience (and she thinks of it as an actual-death experience). Every "death" after is also reasonably survivable (even if the fall into the greenhouse is dubious--people survive falls like that in movies all the time). Even when Schreck shoots her, it's not in any vital organs. The hardest to explain is the electrocution, but it's possible that what really killed Schreck is the wire she grabs and she got knocked from him before the wire touched him, leaving her with at only some burns on her tongue from the taser. This movie may not have done so well, but I've enjoyed it since it first came out. Too bad it led to the awful Catwoman movie (CineCringe candidate right there), but that's hardly the fault of Batman Returns. Instead, blame development hell and that sort of thing.
Michelle Pfeiffer's portrayal of Catwoman is my favorite out of any incarnation. Between her latex outfit, her makeup and the completely different tones of voice for the two sides of the same character are so purrfect. (Sorry, but I had to do a cat pun).
YESSS. This is my favourite Batman movie to this day. Burton did an incredible job. Penguin is one of DeVito's best character roles, and the gothic energy of this film is so accurate to the comics at the time that it was really like seeing a Batman story on screen.
Smart enough to know that if he's useful to Batman in regards to taking down worse criminals, then he can live a very comfortable life
Yeah, he's not very comic accurate, but I still really enjoy this version.
Well to be honest the mob boss is a new thing in comics, he used to be gentleman criminal, kind of thing.
And at one point, they turned him British for some reason.
And at one point, they turned him British for some reason.
The cat suit would basically vacuum seal itself to Michele Pfeifer's body. She couldn't wear it too long without suffocating. George, nice Love Sandwich reference.
Saw it as a 12-Year-old-Boy in the Cinema. It was a life-changing Experience. Batman-Fan since and forever. Tim Burton's Masterpiece and Michelle Pfeiffer and Danny deVito gave Performances for the Ages. Especialy Michelle Pfeiffer's Catwoman will be unmatched forever.
Lol Same age, 12, and also saw it in the cinema. Michelle Pfeiffer's Catwoman was very much an awakening for me. These days I live and work in the BDSM/Fetish world 😆
@@heffatheanimal2200 I didn't get into bdsm, but growing up with women like michelle pfeiffer, michelle yeoh, and linda hamilton definitely ingrained in me a love of powerful women
My head canon, the cats gave Seleena a small bit of one of their souls/lives.
Likewise
uh, I like that one 😼
Oh man, wonder if someone counted the cats, what if there are nine and each give one of their lives?
@@gamerbear84 no there are more. She also doesn’t fall through 9 marquies. Both missed chances I always thought
There are old superstitions about cats being able to transfer/give/take lives through breath. I always assumed that the cat licking her mouth at the start was the one that gave her a life.
To this day this is still my favorite live action Batman movie of all time. It's the perfect balance of being serious but also not being afraid to be over the top at times. Lastly no other film brought the gothic nature of Batman's world to life the way Tim Burton did with his 2 movies
Michelle is also amazing in Stardust. Love her in that.
Amen!
That’s what’s great about comic book movies, filmmakers can approach them with different interpretations. Like doing Shakespeare
And I wish more comic book movies were more stylized like this rather than just being so realistic.
Yessss! I totally agree! Glad to hear someone has the same opinion. I really love the whole “fairy tale” style Tim Burton did.
You have a point there.
It was still believable in the 90s.
@promontorium lol no they didn't
The cats were giving her one of their lives until she had 9
her superpower is toxoplasmosis
"She's like a zombie..."
Specifically, a revenant (an undead fueled by revenge).
Wouldn't she become dead again after she got her revenge? We see that the end she survived
@@JasonKreider-eq8kp I like to think that having only one life left after killing Shrek broke her 'curse'. So now she's mortal again and still out there.
"It's not like you can just kill me." "Actually, it's a lot like that."
This was used in Overkill's song Battle.
Fun Fact. Danny Devito and Arnold Schwarzenneger were both in Twins together and are also Batman movie villains.
Penguin and Mr. Freeze!
Also Penguins make up is almost like Beetlejuices.
You list Twins but excluse Junior? Shame on you! lol
Also, DeVito and Jack Nicholson were the 2 Burton film villains and also good friends in real life and did several films together.
Valid point.
I think the idea was that the cats biting her stimulated her nervous system so that her body didn't shut down.
IDK Unless it's in the comics, I just found that "transformation" idea kinda weird.
Yep...It basically prevented her or stopped her from going into shock. It saved her life.
@@brianvalencia7717 In the comics none of her origins that I'm aware of have anything to do with cats other than the fact that she likes cats.
Sounds plausible to me.
I had already fallen in love with Michelle when I saw her in Ladyhawke. But yes, her performance in this film did wonderful things for me as well. 😊
My favorite Batman film of all time
"Why is he always oooozzzing?!!??!?" That's hysterical.
"I didn't count on being happy."
Mask of the Phantasm is amazing. Under The Red Hood is worth checking out, as well.
SubZero & Mystery Of The Batwoman too
25:38, correction those are a mix of actual live penguins with mechanical ones created by the master himself Stan Winston.
Simone's deadpan "leave a like, or something" gets me every time, love it
The best Catwoman performance of all time ,,,,, that scene where she "flic-flacs" towards the camera and says "" Meow"" just before the explosion , with that bitter look on her face is outstanding amazing , one of the most memorable moments in the Batman film repertoire ....and in cinema in general .....
The first one was Tim Burton on a leash held by the studio, but since it money they let him do whatever he wanted in this one, so yeah, the penguin and catwoman are nothing like this in the comics, origins wise that is. Despite all that, I still think this one is a lot better.
“I Miss The Days When One's Biggest Concern Was Exploding Wind-Up Penguins.”
~Bat Affleck
The letter bringing monkey attacked Danny Devitos privates (True story by Devito himself) he laughed and said something long the line "thank god for all the leyers of the costume😅"😂(It has been a while when I saw that interwiev)
The creature that Cat Woman in this movie is, would be considered a revenant in the Monster Manual.
I saw this in the theater when it came out and they were giving out pins to everyone, one of which was a yellow duck. Imagine our confusion waiting to find out what it was for. XD
The penguin cuddled up to the mechanical penguin gives me serious grape kun vibes and suddenly im not ok anymore.
George: "She's not Catwoman yet. We gotta wait for her to fall into a vat of cats LOL"
(2-1/2 minutes later): "wait really?"
Believe it or not, it was the lady with the poodle that got my attention as a kid in the theater. Something was so ghostly but sexy about her that I had an absolute crush on her when I was 12.
I think I still have a crush, lol!
She's the best.
It could be done well, being kept ambiguous like it was here.
Swans, cats - you’ve been on a “the natural result of suppressed female rage” journey lately. Next stop is clearly Promising Young Woman
In the 2004 Catwoman movie they get more in detail on what happened to Selena. Creatures like cats or crows are able to bring souls back from the underworld. If you remember in the Brendan Fraser mummy movie the mummy was afraid of cats because they were the guardians of the underworld.
Dude, you know the rules, we don't mention 2004 Catwoman.
That wasn't even Selena Kyle 😂
You actually saw Catwoman? 😂
Love when Simone told George to "Calm the f&*k down.". I'm sure many of use were thinking the same thing. 😆
@SorcerSundry since Geoge has worked in the adult film business. he'd be more chill. Just saying.
Calm the fuck *down…* ;-)
@SorcerSundry Gotta love double standards! lol
Pfeiffer actually whipping the heads off of the mannequins to the crew's amazement is still so impressive.
When Catwoman comes back to her apartment she shoves a lamp off a table - exactly what a cat would do. Love these details.
"Eat floor" is my favorite line in this movie hahaha
Nowadays, MP would've won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress. Sublime. If you want more Michelle watch her run around NYC with George Clooney in One Fine Day (1996).
Michelle Pfeiffer is the best Catwomen.
She whipped the heads off the
mannequins for real, and in one take, There is footage of that scene/moment being filmed and everyone claps for her afterwards.
It's a well known fact that cats have supernatural powers. Also movie suggestion: Streets of Fire
That "Meow." is one of the great moments in cinematic history.
Overall this movie is astoundingly good. It took me a long time, and the state of modern Hollywood to realise what genius this was. So many things ordinary people just can't come up with, such great casting and acting. Brilliant.
Alfred tells Batfleck about the time when only had to battle clockwork penguins.
"His lips have brackets" might be the best way to describe Michael Keaton, ever 🤣
The scene where Catwoman knocks the heads off the mannequins was done in one take and it was Michelle Pfeiffer’s first attempt.
Recent comics have actually called out how terrible gotham is. It actually inspires people to move into gotham to prove that if they can make it there, they can make it anywhere.
Just like NYC
@@shawnmiller4781came here to say, like London 😂
At least one comic has suggested that Gotham might actually be cursed.
The tazer she took from the clown was still on her. So every time the cats were touching her or moving her slightly they were activating the tazer which was shocking her back to life. She had the same tazer when she took out Max Shrek.
"It's gonna be a hot time, in the cold town tonight" was also sd by The Joker in the first movie
Very close. He technically says "old town" (referencing an old song), while Selena does indeed say "cold town." It was certainly a reference/callback, regardless.
28:10 Always love that ending seeing Catwoman look up at the Bat-signal! Plus the iconic music!
Definitely my favorite older Batman movies!
So glad George noticed the scene with Selina and Bruce dancing like Nolan did in TDKR ..now i dont have to lol
8:00 - "About how the power plant instead of generating power it'll sort of be sucking power..."
Max Schrek's evil plan is to suck the lifeblood (electricity) out of Gotham.
This wasn’t a Batman movie, it was a Tim Burton movie that happened to have Batman in it
This. And it’s rather fantastic as such.
I’m straight and I can say that Michelle Pfieffer’s Catwoman awoke things in many of us! She also looked gorgeous in the masquerade scene.
And the Batman movies only get sillier from here!
"... I'll be in my bunk" - George
About the movie poster. It's not a sandwich. It's a cake tower - from the top: beefcake, cheesecake, fruitcake.
When I was a little kid in the 70's, Michelle Pfeiffer was a checker at the only grocery store in my hometown.
This movie was considered too dark for younger audiences that Warner Brothers basically got rid of Burton for the next two movies by they hire a director that could make it more "family friendly"
When Catwoman licked Batman's face the whole theatre gasped, you could feel the atmospheric pressure dropping for all the air inhaled.

Interesting fact, Paul Reubens also played the Penguin's father in the TV show Gotham. There he was killed for his money not by the Penguin though.

That would be Shampoo, his Chinese pursuer.

All actors that have played the Penguin live action. Burgess Meredith, Danny DeVito, Robin Lord Taylor, and Colin Farrell'.
Your not the only one that loves this Cat Woman. Hubba Hubba!!!
Christopher Walken’s character, Max Schreck, is named after the actor who played Count Orlock in Nosferatu (1922)
YESSS. This is my favourite Batman movie to this day. Burton did an incredible job. Penguin is one of DeVito's best character roles, and the gothic energy of this film is so accurate to the comics at the time that it was really like seeing a Batman story on screen. Michelle did an unbelievably great job at Selina, and the music in this film is superb-- A great soundtrack by Danny Elfman. 10/10
Soundtrack is songs, you're talking about score.
