Question for you: during the skill med pass test, on the count book, what happens when the previous entry is wrong, what number do u use for amount left. Example: previous entry in count book reads 27, but after I dispense the 2 pills required my blister pack reads I have 23 pills left what amount of pills do you enter on the count book? Do you just go with 21 left?
@@BamaMom26 Great question. That should have been caught in change of shift count. Since it was not there are a few steps. 1st the patient is fine since he/she receive the medication. You need to get the 2nd MAP staff count each pill individually just to make sure. Right a note write in the count book; use as many lines as you need to describe the scenario. The supervisor can determine if it is suspicious or non suspicious. then after the notation do your entry as you would with what you had on hand; what you gave and the amount left. Hope that helps.
