"Why does he have a gun? Why does he have an AK?". Almost every single gun in Star Wars is based on real firearms with little modification. Han's blaster is a Mauser C96. The Stormtrooper blaster is a Sterling SMG. The Death troopers DLT-19 is an MG-34. That AK fits the franchise history and aesthetic. Moving on, the TV is great within itself, but the additional costs for the Star Wars edition isn't justified imo, even as an avid Star Wars fan.
@GH0STST4RSCR34M What joke? That is an actual complaint I have seen on every social media platform. There are even news articles written about the "AK-47 in Star Wars: Andor".
Plouffe! Yes! Anyone that thought the Death Stars were designed to fight rebels or control the existing galaxy had no idea about the Vong. To be fair the Vong were never mentioned at all in the movies, just EU which is sad because there's a lot of cool stuff written about the "real" time period following the collapse of Empire.
The EU brought in the vong. The actual movies showed the Death Star blowing up a planet the empire didn’t like. So its ok to think that’s what they do, since that’s what they did.
I mean, when Lucas made the Death Star, that’s what it was for. The EU stuff came later and it’s pretty clear Lucas didn’t think it was particularly canon as it’s not mentioned in episode 3 which came after the Vong’s introduction. Their immunity to the force also kind of contradicts Lucas’ description of it.

It's just that the AK47's widespread recognizability compared to other guns makes people notice it. (if someone wanted to know it)
Real missed opportunity IMO, that there aren't lightsaber whooshing sounds when you navigate the menus, nor lightsaber clashing or blaster SFX when making selections. I mean, it would probably get old after a while and you might mute it, but it would have added just a bit more. It also wouldn't have killed them to add some sort of Star Wars themed background to the menus. Nothing too flashy, as that might have made it look messy or confusing, but not even like a lightspeed or space graphic? The most permanent and fancy Star Wars feature is on the back of the display which basically will never be seen, as most people place their TVs against the wall (whether mounted or on stands).

@@stoves5877 Darn, now I miss those books about the Vong! I’ve been hoping that the Grysjs (which do happen to be in the Thrawn books) would be the new take on the Vong invasion as the whole idea seemed so similar, but we’re still waiting for their story to be fully-realized.
3:43 exactly. what i loved the most about the prequels were the colorful planets that were full of life.
That logo being on the dark side of a TV. Top tier.
I broke a Samsung 4k on super sale trying to put it on a wall. Went through all the programing prompts and then went to bed and noticed first thing in the morning not 1, but 2 huge bands of shame. The local store I bought it from didnt believe me and went through the serial numbers very carefully before trying to get me to accept an identical replacement, I told them I no longer had consumer confidence in Samsung or any of the other in house brands they offered. after 2 hours of trying to hold my wife back from the weekend assistant manager I then grabed the cash, ponied up an additional $200 bucks and got a Sony. God I love that TV!
I install these all the time. If you lay it on the box you can lift the box and it spreads the weight across the whole screen instead of just lifting from the glass. But I honestly build them standing upright build the stand then two person lift onto the stand as they have clips to slide it into place. Having the second person holding it to be safe while screws are put in.
Spooff is so cool he literally knows everything about all the subjects there are to know about
10:10 - “Would I buy it? NO” 🤣🤣
"Why does he have a gun?
What is the vong
The EU brought in the vong. The actual movies showed the Death Star blowing up a planet the empire didn’t like. So its ok to think that’s what they do, since that’s what they did.
I mean, when Lucas made the Death Star, that’s what it was for. The EU stuff came later and it’s pretty clear Lucas didn’t think it was particularly canon as it’s not mentioned in episode 3 which came after the Vong’s introduction. Their immunity to the force also kind of contradicts Lucas’ description of it.
@@KayJay01 wtf is the vong
@@Rokegle135 a species of religious zealouts originating from another galaxy. their beliefs were that all technological/mechanical progress was heretical and therefore should be wiped out. since the galaxy in star wars was pretty technologically advanced they were going to invade it, and did, killing trillions.
This guy low-key reminds me of Lou from Unbox Therapy.
what i try and do with these thin TVs is attach a wall mount bracket to the back if it, makes it easy to pick up. I keep my old Samsung TOC LED TV Flush mount since it was just a metal rope with 2 holes for mounting on the TV. turns it into a handle. Pick it up and place it on the stand.
Nice to see more of Plouffe. Underrated as a host and presenter.
In the beginning i was like "oh, they should at least put Lord Vader breathing when you turn it on" and then it turns out it has Lord Vader breathing when you turn it on haha 😁😁😁
I’ve been using the 55” C1 as a PC monitor for awhile now and no issues of image retention at all there are so many features to prevent it
Same. Had the 49" C1 on the go as my daily monitor for a year with zero issues. Admittedly I'm using it for gaming, rather than productivity, but it's been a great monitor.
I love the rebels soundtrack humming at 2:36
I've had great success putting together newer TVs utilizing the box and foam as much as possible. I normally finish with the foam replaced on the sides of the TV to stabilize it and give it a space from any surface I'm building on
"I don't like what Disney has done to Star Wars...I don't have Disney Plus and have not seen much of the spin off stuff, but I've heard mixed opinions..." - Clearly an informed opinion, thanks for sharing - nearly as bad as this TV deal.
The force is strong with this one
So it wasn’t Thrawn he was defending against. Thrawn was actually an ally. He was supposedly defending against the yuuzhan vong
Indeed, quite a few of his comments were off and I suspect either fishing for comments or just someone jumping on the outrage train without fully understanding the old EU
yh that threw me off instantly
For real, that confused me as hell
So in theory, if he hadn't read the books 8n a while, it's entirely possible that he just confused the 2. It didn't seem scripted and it's possible the names just got jumbled up. I've done that before with things so I find it understandable.
@@TheBorhork No way, only a senior with dementia would confuse those two. Literally NOTHING alike. He just doesn't know and that's okay since none of it matters anymore. It is sad that he was trying to appear as a fan though.
Dang it Plouffe its the Yuuzhan Vong XD
Rogue Squadron 3D.
Excellent classic Star Wars game.
EXPANDED UNIVERSE FOREVER!!!
Just started re-reading them again - Truce at Bakura and Shadows of Mindor. Courtship of Princess Leia is next (I'm skipping the X-Wing for now).
Don't skip the X-wing series. That's one of my favorites(I've read them so many times as they were my standard carry on long road trips as a kid). Truce at Bakura is pretty good though.
7:35 it does have a turn on/off special feature with the breathing.
(Just as an unimportant sidefact, if nobody already said it)
The Character at about 8:10 has an AK47, because Star Wars Blasters in general are mostly based on Real Life modified/sometime even unmodified guns.
It's just that the AK47's widespread recognizability compared to other guns makes people notice it.
(if someone wanted to know it)
I just hope curved tvs comeback I had one for about my childhood and after getting a new one that’s flat, it actually made a difference.
yeah it doesn't reallly do much Theming on the from which is where you would actually look at for the Star Wars stuff
imagine paying a premium for a C2 with a skinned WebOS.
I wonder what it's like to use such a copy paste comment format, how does it feel?
2:05 Please do explain this. Defend against the 'Thrawn'? The only Star Wars Thrawn I know about is Grand Admiral Thrawn.
2:13 not the incoming threat of the thrawn. Thrawn was a Chiss admiral serving within the empire. You mean the Yuzhon Vong. (I don't think that's the correct spelling) but yeah they were extra Galactic invaders and the almost defeated the new republic and invaded the whole starears galaxy in ledgends canon.
I’ve got the normal LG C2 in the 83” version. It’s beautiful.
That weird texture on the back is supposed to replicate the texture on Vader's chest and shoulder plate armor.
Okay. I'm in love with this man. Seriously...how does Linus consistently hire the best people. I don't think I can name a person at LMG that I don't adore in some way. What other company can you say that about? Love it.
Welp, that means you're gay.
I couldn’t hear because I’m at starbucks but did anyone tell him that thrawn is also alive in canon, ahsoka yelled “where’s thrawn” during the mandalorian episode she was in
2:44 why, It's the Star Wars TV, it having an astronomical price totally checks out! 💁♂️
Because it's in space and all. 😜
"A weird finish that I've never experienced before. I kind of like it."
How did we not hear a "that's what she said" from the crew?
Thrawn is a guy, he is a chiss, and working for the empire. The emporer was trying to protect the galaxy from the Yuuzhan-Vong ... glad we cleared that up :D
I love that remote no kid can break the battery tray cover! I prefer this design.
The software side would be like a nice $10-20 download, and the remote could be sold separately to work with any 2022 LG.
"....the incoming threat of the thrawn".
I think I'm having a stroke
2:08 slight correction on your star wars trivia there, it was actually the Yuuzhan Vong!
Styrofoam warning earned a like, hate that sound! You guys are the best
David and the editor misheard: it is not (Vice) Admiral *Thrawn* that the Emperor is trying to defend the galaxy against, it was the Yuuzan *Vong*, I don't think disney has reintroduced the Yuuzan Vong back into canon yet.
General question: Does anyone know what the content is on the screen at 8:28? I've been trying to place that scene but I keep drawing up blank.
3:28 I like that song too 😂😂
If you go back to the "LEGENDS" timeline. The Emperor was trying to get the galaxy ready for the Yuzkon Vong, not Thrawn (who is a Chiss).
there's more to it, "but I would need charts and graphs to show you." ;)
the comical timings at this video is really spot on, 6/9 can't stop laughing
I love that most of the time the host on set including linus asks that a clip should be cut from the video but still ends up in the video.
Praise be to the editors for granting us all the privilege of seeing these moments
@@NyxHunter I wonder how the hosts especially linus react to those clips that they asked to remove but are still there 😂
@@moraxushon They probably just laugh. Cause they know it's not gonna get cut if the editor can manage it.
If it was something questionable like an iffy joke or an actual embarrassing moment that might cause the comments to get nasty in sure they cut/check with the host first.
7:51 ikr? I've never watched Star Wars but every now and then TH-cam recommends star wars related contents for me, might've because I watch trailers from other movies & series, fair enough. It's though as if Disney is churning out Star Wars stuff every month or so. It's terrifying how they're feeding on the fans. Or rather, s***ing on the OG fans, reading the opinions regarding most SW after Disney's take over.
This was a decent unboxing but Linus and Anthony skill with monitors is very clear.
*Yuuzhan Vong* invasion is what the emperor was trying to fight, had nothing to do with Thrawn.... Sorry to be that guy but I lived in that Univers for years.... LMAO, it was fun....
Does he mean the Yuuzhan Vong?
2:10 No you mean Thrawn and the Emperor were protecting against the Yuzhon Vong
2:58 Honetly, I can't picture HelloGreedo getting one of these, is just a TV with a paintjob that you won't even see, as it's in the back...
I would love if the REMOTE was a full on lightsaber PROP (with buttons on one side but when U put it on a shelf the other side would be just Luke's lightsaber) - that would be soo cool and worth the price ❤❤❤
At 9:36 the gamertag was shown, but it was probably meant to be blurred
So if I just bought the regular version of the TV, put on some star wars stickers, and modded it to have a light saber cursor I would have the same experience? Sick
Interesting. I just bought the C2 for 1300€ and I'm really happy with it. But my remote is completly different, not a brick like yours but more elegant? I'm from Europe and maybe this is the difference?
Can i fit a full size receiver in that TV stand. Seeing that in IKEA?
Cool star wars edition.
Got the c1. I don't like some low quality, blacks look weird. I notice it. High quality stuff looks ok.
All of the menu's should be Star Wars themed, I can't believe they didn't do that...
You've heard "mixed" things about Kenobi??? What??? It's getting fantastic reviews all around!
I'd be concerned about future firmware updates. Seems like it would need it's own special version of FW which could mean slower updates
No need for electricity,it's powered by the FORCE!
It did sound like a lightsaber when the box was put down at 1:17 :)
I have contacted Geek Squad to wall mount a large format TV. Only one guy showed up, and I couldn't help because I have a spinal cord injury. Dude broke my TV.
I love David's "whyyyy.." Hahaha
The Tobey Maguire meme made me spit out my coffee hahahahahahahahahaha
6:45 "don't you love smart TVs", funnily enough my Parents chose to purchase a 48" C2 to replace aging/failing 2017 40" Samsung LED. They saw the number of menu's/questions I had to deal with, their comment was they wouldn't have had a clue how to set it up. Although I have no idea why they went for an OLED when none of the content they will be watching will be 4K or HDR.
Because OLED and HDR aren't the same thing, just about anything looks better with better contrast and less ghosting. 4K is basically all you get these days so of course that's what they bought.
I'm confused why you're confused about their choice. Smart TVs do absolutely suck though, they're right about that.
@@BahhBahhBrownSheep When did I say it was the same thing. None of my own LGs are OLED but support HDR/HLG/Dolby Vision.
I was referring to the price of an OLED vs their LED range if the content they use is hardly going to take advantage of the panel.
Yes the contrast is better but not at that price difference for that content.
2:05 not the Thrawn, Thrawn was one of his admirals. The threat was the Yuuzhan Vong
Is that an LTT version of the Float album cover on the desk?
Everyone: Starts arguing in the comments about the Disney era
Me: Oh no, I’m not brave enough for politics
The default state for Star Wars fans: angry at all times about everything always
GIMME THAT TV! I freaking love Star Wars!
Can't believe he didn't swing the lightsabre at linus' kids. That would have been more on point to the meme
5:27 Is there a 64-bit version?
Multiview in the gaming menu?
2:11 The Thrawn? Much as I like Star Wars novels, Timothy Zahn wrote some of the cheesiest stories with the most tie-ins to his other works crammed in.
I got a 42 inch C2 recently as a monitor , it is absolutely amazing. This is just silly. What would be nice if there was a slightly cheaper version that is a "monitor " special edition with out all the TV stuff.
Wasn’t the emperor protecting against the Yuuzan Vong, not Thrawn?
Thrawn was in the Rebels cartoon too, which was actually pretty decent.
