hey this is a really dumb question but it doesn't get physically bigger the more you upgrade it since the 512gb is just the software right? like it's still the same 2.7 lbs and 13.6in screen?

Hiiii! Is the battery life good? What apps do you use mostly? I'm planniny on buying one. I'm contemplating between the Air and the Pro because of the throttling problems. Does your MacBook throttle?
Helloo, the battery life is perfect! I used it for 3 days on and off for youtube etc. and never had to charge it. Overall, the throttling problem is not obvious doing everyday tasks, it doesn't heat up at all even when I'm editing my videos and the performance does not evidently change. But, if you're going to use it for heavy tasks like editing, photoshop, gaming etc., I think you should get the pro :). Hope that helped.
I just picked mines up yesterday from the Apple store :) Had a little trouble choosing between starlight or midnight, but glad I went with starlight like you!
Hi! I would like to ask how much RAMs will he taken up just by purely running google chrome lets say like 5-10tabs (if possible for you to test out for me) still thinking is base model safe for me
Hi! I usually have a few windows (all with 7-ish tabs) open and a game running and it works out fine for me. Apple laptops are generally great so google chrome would be absolutely fine. :) Hope that helped, there are also videos on TH-cam that run Cinebench and other graphics-intensive tasks to test out the MacBook's performance.
any problem with heat while editing? I want to by m2 air with 512gb 16unified memory but I am so confused rn. The only difference between pro and air is i think fan system.

Hi! It's true that there isn't a cooling fan but so far I haven't had any problems with overheating over the year :)
