Sonic is a good father and his talk with Sonia proved it he didn't yell at her or act like she was an idiot he let her know that the attempt to help was appreciated but her and Manik getting involved caused more trouble because it forced Sonic and Sally to divert their attention from fighting the bad guys to keeping them safe and that yes he would pull something like that, but it's not really the best call to make. Along with telling her that him and Sally had a plan to keep them safe and deal with the bad guys and generally getting her to see that his mindset of rushing in without a plan is not always the best solution.
