I bought some fruit trees a few years ago. Now we're swimming in pears, apples, peaches and figs. I fill boxes with them and beg people to take them. My kids act like they are farmers now with their harvests.
I highly recommend fruit trees. You dont just get a plant, you get a whole host of new hobbies. I can and preserve all sorts of stuff and i got to learn how to make jam and vinegars.

These prices are actually outrageous. I live in Canada where stuff is expensive but with $150 at a green house would get me several beautiful plants. I love plants and feel you could never have enough of them. 🌿🌳🌱🌻🌸

Go to the thrift store, and look for cool containers for your plants indoor and outdoor! When I wasn’t married and lived in an apt. I needed easy care plants so I had it all growing in water and plant food. And I had a corn plant that was potted in dirt. The plants in water grew really well and I had to keep transplanting them as they were growing almost too well!

Omg that potting shed! I wish we had something like that where I live (Melb, Australia). I don’t have a backyard so trying to find a spot to repot anything is impossible without getting dirt everywhere!!
You might have to check that the plants you choose aren’t toxic for the kids. I actually put my brother in hospital when we were kids, when I used torn up leaves from the garden, to put on my tea set plates, and i proceeded to ask him to join my tea party. It was supposed to be pretend. How was I to know he would be fool enough to actually eat it. He has never let me forget that my cooking poisoned him. Good luck guys.😊

I live in an expensive part of Connecticut, and the plants here are not that overpriced, for something they are charging y'all for $100 you can find here for $40.
You should get a lemon or orange tree for inside. They have miniture trees for indoors. They are so cool. Yes they produce fruit 💕

Alix, don't listen to Stephen, you go out there and get a hundred more plants, I personally have 400+ in a 1bedroom apartment - I rescue everything, I propagate everything... literally plants in every room. I cant go from a to b without touching plants. Children learn to love plants. Animals learn to leave them alone.

Wow, your plant prices. I live in southwestern British Columbia Canada, and our plant prices are way cheaper than those. I never buy from Home Depot or Lowes etc, their plants are garbage. We have nurseries, like the one you were at, Potters, Gardenworks etc. and that's where I shop. Miya saying please was so cute. Was she using ASL? I've seen other parents teaching there babies and toddlers that, it helps them communicate before they're verbal.
