I was so excited when I saw the thumbnail and title of the video. Japanese history is rich with fascinating figures.
Lady Oichi had her share of sad moments in life but no one can say that her life wasn't extraordinary.
Her daughters grew up to be some of the most important figures in Japanese history.
Thank you so much for making this video. I consider it my good fortune to be able to learn about Japanese history from your channel.

I thought so, too. He must have been special to her. Also, maybe she no longer feared for the wellbeing of her daughters because she knew her birth clan would take good care of them.

Apart of me always thought she didn't too live was because she didn't want too be a personal kept trophy of hideyoshi bc he would have made her his concubine too someday so she choose death gave her daughters too safety and I'm sure she would have been pissed too find out what he did with her daughters.

The records in Wiki say the age difference between Oichi (b.1547 died at 37/38) and Nagamasa (b.1545 died at 27) is 2 years old not 5 years old as stated in the video. Plus, Oichi also had a son from Azai that died in the Azai Oda war, and her daughter Chacha was around 14 when Oichi died
