Solo Winter Bushcraft Camp - No Sleeping Bag, Long Log Fire, Snow, Canvas lavvu, Campfire Cooking

- Solo winter bushcraft camp overnighter in the snow. The lowest temperature was - 8 celcius at night. The log fire warmed me all night long, but i did add 2 more thick logs before going to sleep. It burned slowly through the night, giving enough warmth for me to doze off to sleep next to it in my clothes and sheep skin until dawn. Its cool to see in the video the large area the fire melted the snow and dried the ground.I used a dead standing pine tree for the log fire. I bucked the logs to my height and split a few 40 cm logs for kindling from the same tree.
That processing takes quite some time. I used birch tree bark and the processed kindling i made for lighting the fire in four sections, and once lit i cooked on top of the first two logs, adding the third log once I was done cooking my meal.
The medium size tree i chose provided about 6 large 186cm ( my height ) logs and kindling. You are not allowed to cut dead or live standing trees in Scandinavia unless you have asked landowner permission or own the land. Unfortunately, you can hear the logging going on again in the background noise. Its was far from where I was, but it still picked it up.
I cooked a delicious meat and asparagus cream dish which helped keep me warm through the night as well. I really enjoyed the camp site and all the snow. I also received a very cool surprise this week and I share that with you on this video.

All around awesome and beautiful. The mandolin sounded great! I've brought a cheap violin out but you have to be careful or they'll come unglued, crack, warp. I'm glad your mandolin survived! I've tried bringing a recorder and a tin whistle but wind instruments definitely freeze up in winter! Great video.
