    Considering the scale of the Breakout, I think it would’ve been cool to have two more episodes to give time for everything packed in, and to be able to see every hero and villain show up. This is mostly just because I wanted to see Core Hunter in the show.

    • @blackbolt175
      @blackbolt175 ปีที่แล้ว +40

      Bulk vs Core Hunter would have been the best and out of all the heroes sent out Bulk would have the most dangerous because in Lore Core Hunter has killed heroes so bulk fighting an actual Serial Killer would be dope

    • @ballsackboi505
      @ballsackboi505 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      It would’ve been nice to see other Heroes like Nex, Breeze, and Bulk on their own side of the Breakout situation and Dib talking to them giving them an in-canon reason they weren’t with the main group.

    • @blackbolt175
      @blackbolt175 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@ballsackboi505 It would prob be because the villains are the worse of the worse and they would cause more chaos in different planets and those three might need to be speced out in top of the line gear and bulk could get a proto type of the core clamps so core hunter wont be able to steel his core

    I am so glad I am not the only one who LOVED Hero Factory as a kid. I collected so nearly every set from Season 1-5. I don't know why but me and my little brother were super into this show and we would always playout scenes from the show, maybe because back then I didn't grow up with Transformers yet so this was a surrogate Transformers for me. My favourite seasons were between Savage Planet, Breakout and Brain Attack. Such cool ideas and I had no idea how much star power was in the show.

    "But it leads to absolutely nothing"
    Pretty much Hero Factory in a nutshell there. I think my favorite parts of the series were the early days, when it seemed fresh and fun, like Bionicle mixed with a cop show. (BTW, check out Hero Factory FM. It was a fake radio show that the website hosted that, while corny, was pretty fun to listen to as a kid.) But over time it just became really dull as none of the plot elements really went anywhere interesting and the writing failed to raise above "standard 2010's kid's toy show". There was a brief rise in interest with the the next few themes, the sets were always fun to look at at least, but there was never much of a plot to follow like in the old days with Bionicle.
    Apparently it the story was originally going to be that the Hero Factory was actually more of an antagonistic force to the galaxy at large than you'd think. The idea of "manufactured heroes" is a pretty juicy story concept with a lot of potential for thoughtful writing even for kids. Unfortunately it didn't take.

    • @tunebeat3809
      @tunebeat3809 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Plus, if Lego go for the idea that Hero Factory isn't entirely a good force, they should have genuinely good characters that want to protect innocent lives from hostile threats.

  • @TheGoodPickUpLineOfArkvoodle
    @TheGoodPickUpLineOfArkvoodle ปีที่แล้ว +177

    So I don't think Invasion from below was a bad idea, it was just a bad idea for hero factory.
    Some of the problems that Hero factory ran into, when looking back, were 1. after breakout HF kinda just became a dumping ground for Lego's half baked ideas they didn't want to make new themes for. 2. It got repetitive to collect the Same Characters over again, like I don't think a new Hero was introduced after Rocka. I think it would have been better for each wave to have like 3 returning characters, and 2-3 new characters.
    These are all problems I see in hind sight, But I loved hero factory as a kid and still do to this day.

    I like both Hero Factory and Bionicle but I personally grew up with Hero Factory and where it dropped for me is Attack from Below because the voices were all different and the heroes looked all weird from their previous versions, only thing that was the same even slightly was their helmets and the fact they could take those off was much different than usual, also the generic Lego piece weapons really just lowered the creativity from the more complex ones of the buildable, pretty much, action figures they had before and the way it was so big of a change from Brain Attack or Savage Planet just made it feel out of place and like the average super hero v monsters instead of produced heroes against scrappy looking bad guys, I still have DVD copies of the first movie and Savage Planet and their still my favourite of the Hero Factory things other than the figures themself which I still have a bunch of pieces for

    I think the biggest issue for Hero Factory was the Bionicle fandom. I remember the Lego message boards being filled with people talking bad about Hero Factory because "Bionicle is better" and "Bring Back Bionicle" all over the place. Hero Factory could have been the next Bionicle if it weren't for that, and if Legos had actually put more effort into it. Instead, the quality of it all just went downhill when Brain Attack came out.

    I was a little too young for Bioncle when it was a thing, I knew of Bioncle I had a cousin who got a Bioncle set for his Birthday I believe it was the Baranus V7 set if my maybe 5 year oldish brain remembers correctly. So I never owned any Bioncle sets as a kid, around the time I got into the age range where I would've enjoyed Bioncle hero factory just came out, I had atleast 4 from the first wave, three heros, and two villains, and one from the third wave. I have a friend who owned a ton of the Hero factory stuff who's about three years older than me who owned a ton more of this stuff than I and was actually somebody who could keep his legos in tact unlike me.
    But I remember liking this lego series a ton and I got a ton of nostalgia towards this theme and I would love to see a reboot someday. Sure bioncle is the more popular one but I grew up with hero factory more than I did with Bioncle.

    I really liked the TV show. The art direction looks nice, the music was catchy, and the voice cast was full of A-listers.
    Rise of the Rookies (Very good, not much more to say)
    Ordeal of the Fire (My favorite. Fire Lord was a great villain, and this episode just felt like a movie)
    Savage Planet (A bunch of fun jokes with a simple and fun plot that was enjoyable)
    Breakout (Great way to tie into the rest of the series, shame it didn't lead anywhere)
    Brain Attack (A little boring, but still fun)

I build both newer versions of characters from the show, as well as make many of my own. (I’m actually working on a fire lord revamp right now) I have my own personal headcanon of how the story would’ve continued after brain attack and how I would’ve changed to certain elements of the story to make it more interesting (mostly so Von Nebula can live up to the legend) I realize this all might seem silly, but it’s some thing that I truly love and I’m so happy to see the random video mention it every now, and then. Finally a LEGO related video for me.
    I was never into LEGO as much, but Hero Factory level customization just ticked all the right boxes for me.
    Since my early childhood I was a collector of these wonderful builds. The stories were bland, yes, but as a kid I enjoyed it very much.
    And the customization level on these builds is simply through the roof. It really captivated my imagination and to this day I have several big boxes in my attic filled with pieces of them.
    It means so much to me seeing other people acknowledge this that it gets to me. Motivates me to revisit it and perhaps build them all up again, since later I just used the parts to make my own characters and lore anyway.
    Breakout was peak lore and Invasion from below was terrible indeed.
    It saddens me that they didnt elaborate further with Breakout. For example creating a plot twist that every decision made by the organization was a part of an incredibly calculating and powerful villain culmunating into a final stand and battle against him.
    My favourite part was never the heroes, but the villains, especially the Witch Doctor and Phantom.

    I really loved Furno but I feel like there were too many heroes that were apart of the main cast but also thought the characters were a bit rushed in there development and should have had more time to show there personality but this was mainly because of the crowded cast but I really love this show though it was my first Lego show I ever watched

    When i was small i had Ferno as a toy. I didn't know anything about hero factory, i got it, because my mother mistaken him for iron man and she bought it for me since i was(and still am) a huge fan. But i loved that toy, i was playing with it a lot. Now that i mention i kinda miss it.

    I loved this show as a kid. It was sad that Invasion From Below was lackluster

    I remember this, I had the green one. I remember thinking they looked a bit short, so I grabbed some spare bionicle parts and made them twice the height. I think I still have them somewhere.

    My second favorite LEGO theme (behind Chima). I loved all of the generations besides the final one.

    I don’t know if someone has already commented this but brain attack had a mobile game that I believe was exclusive to the kindle. I can’t remember much about it but I remember it was pretty decent and you got to play as all the fan favorite characters which was cool.

    Hero factory was the only Lego theme I had every single set (minus its last season) I wish it would come back someday.

    I never hated Hero Factory as much as other Bionicle fans, I had a fondness for it and respected that it was the new direction constraction was going for the time but there was never the depth that Bionicle had.

    I remember watching this when it aired in the early 2010s. I was really sad it ended after 2014 as it was by far one of the 2 lego franchises I liked a lot at the time though I can understand now why it ended as I do feel like IFB was what killed the franchise's future and that they recasted the entire cast. The other franchise I happened to like a lot was Ninjago which is probably my fav lego franchise to date.

    I love Hero Factory
    Its basically me coping after missing collecting any Bionicle from the ads because my parents took Ages 8+ seriously 😂😭

    i loved hero factory. i got into it the most when they had the animal themed armor and the witch doctor. i got most of those characters along with witch doctor. I remember them being featured prominently in a lego club dvd that came in one of the magazines
