It's great to show the hard behind the scenes work that the public doesn't see when it comes to charter fishing. Most charters show up at the dock, go fish and never appreciate the hard work the captains and crew put in to make your day great. I've helped a friend with this kind of maintenance on his 58' boat with everything from bottom paint, to fixing the ice maker, rigging lures and baits. To me, it's part of the experience that I enjoy.
I subscribed to your channel, I couldn't help myself watching your videos,I was at bud and Mary's twenty years ago,hasn't changed much,we caught a slough of schooly dolphin from there,hopefully I will be able to stop by there again someday memories of a lifetime are made to from there.

Very true. Way back in 1994, my Grampa bought me my first truck, an '86 Ranger (I bagged groceries and pushed shopping carts until I paid him back). Grampa had a garage/workshop out back where you could drive in the front and then open the rear garage door and drive out on to a raised platform where I would walk down and around the back of the building and then be underneath my truck, where I did my own oil & filter changes. 16 ears old and lovin' it!
Great video, a fisherman never really gets a day off. I especially enjoyed that cameo appearance by me at the end. It was nice meeting you finally. We had an awesome time staying in the "Mama Linda" at Bud 'N Mary's. I hope to see you again sometime.

Maintianence is key especially when you have so much invested into you livelihood. Nick you are a top notch captain! I have heard many horror stories of people chartering and having the boat break due to a lazy captain not maintianing their craft.
My boat is only 22' w/ a 200 & 9.9 kicker both zukes. I appreciate the helpful hints in your video...warm em up & oil socks out easier and pull & inspect & lube the props. I usually don't pull the props (if dry, I'll grease) and I have never warmed up before doing the oil. One more reason to watch your channel Nick.
