My first real mentor came into my life at age 41- my first supervisor after I switched careers - the awesome Dolores Brown, who passed away last January :( Her warmth and presence live on in my ❤️
My first mentor was David Stevenson. We worked together in London at an economic development agency and he taught me so much! After such a positive experience, I have sought out mentors over the years and a Scotsman by the name of Frank Hitchman supported me in my early CEO roles. Coaching is a whole different ball game and I find it a really challenging medium that encourages (through clever questions) to make you think through solutions to problems that you can embrace - powerful stuff!
I've been lucky to have had a number of mentors in my career! I had two brilliant mentors in my first job... And they were both amazing in helping me through the ups and downs in my career for many years.
Thanks for the video Suzanne! For sure it is all about always asking the right questions... the right question which helps you break through to the next level. Keep growing & keep succeeding 💚💪

My first mentor was my regional manager back in my sales days, I still utilize things I learnt with her today in my own business!

My older sister was always great at giving me advice - a mentor (even if I never called her that!)
Super interesting! I feel like I've done this over the years for so many people but never actually 'classified it' as 'coaching'! Great video!
That's really great to hear!
It's coaching that makes you choose coaching and mentoring according to your needs, right? I was glad to see that I needed a mentor to help me learn.
