This situation is exactly why people need to look at the fine print. This family asked for the expensive meat just to inflate their egos. They never bothered to read the whole price or what the price was referring to.
This is why I always say in situations like this to always look before you leap. You need to think carefully about any action you’re going to take and then jump into it. If you don’t, you can often end up in deep trouble you can’t get out of.
After all, you don’t cross the street without looking both ways first.
I agree. I always look through the menu so that I don’t overspend and still enjoy a new dish whenever I go to a new restaurant.
Extremes are always bad: if you are excessively cautious, observant, careful, etc., and you are also slow, you lose time and opportunities, if you do not take risks and make difficult decisions in time, you can even lose a lot. In this case, it was the other way around: they took a stupid risk, they jumped headlong into the void without any protective strap, they didn't think or analyze anything... in short, they took an unnecessary and hasty risk for their ego.

Felt sorry for the little boy (son) in this situation . But , I think 🤔 that because of his inquisitive mind he was able to understand what was going on ( alittle bit) an invaluable lesson.
Honestly, if someone threatened me if I wouldn't allow them to Dine and Dash, I would show no mercy and actually Call the Police on them. Idiots like this need to Learn that being Rich does NOT make you above the Law.
I would've not only called the cops for the attempted dine and dash, I would also tell the parents to throw on a waterproof apron and man the dishwasher station.
I'm at least glad to know that the kid is nothing like those scumbags parents.
If Charako Yamamoto makes friends with the Usawa clan from Gossip City, they would put them in the tuna or crab fishing to pay back the money they to Charako. Oh lord, that horrible woman reminds me of this theater critic that used to harass the theater and dance companies for which I performed, trying to bully us into free tickets up front and center or she would write bad reviews about us.
Some of the other theater and dance companies gave in to her demands, only to STILL get a bad review and even the theaters which were separate entities from the dance and theater performing companies couldn’t escape the wrath of her bad reviews.
She was eventually blacklisted from attending any more performances or even going in to certain theaters. A few performance companies and theater trustee boards sued her for slander because she got out of hand. This was before Yelp had taken off, and being an “influencer” was ever a thing.

Another lesson that stupid couple should learn is don't judge small business establishments, especially restaurants. Sometimes the smaller mom and pop establishments serve better quality over any fine dining establishment.
Also, I find it very funny that they couldn't pay their own bill shows that maybe they shouldn't live above their means
