We hit a small tree limb floating at 70 with a stainless outside exhaust Clever prop and it bent the shaft. I was passenger. This was in an old Glasspar. With a 1979 175 Evenrude. With a jack plate and stainless klever prop and chopped top windshield lol. That thing was a chine walker extraordinar. Before we made Hurricane Performance Tunnel Boats. The old days make me smile. Unlike the new days!
Would love to see the video on removing the shaft. Can't seem to find it. Found the the assembly, and carrier removal, but no shaft removal. Thanks for these videos man.
Agree, I can't seem to find any video on actual prop shaft removal? And what are your thoughts on "bending" them back on the boat with a jack like I've seen some do?
SS is a stronger metal and will transfer the impact forces to the shaft & gears. Aluminum prop will be dented & chewed up, but absorb the impact forces, protecting the shaft & gears. Thanks for showing how to use that tool. I probably need one if buying another used boat. 😆
Mines not bent, but it has a tiny bit of play. What's wrong? The bearings is not tighting enough against the outershaft? My seal was pressured tested, but after picking up the drive by the shaft, a little mistake, I got a little gear oil seepage. Also if I pull the shaft It comes forward like 1/8th inch. Is this normal?
