I'm a little late on this, but $5 survivor passes seem like a no brainer to me as long as they have 500 GCoin and a schematic attached to them. If you plan on spending 500 GCoin on something, might as well buy the pass and unlock the 500 GCoin 1st instead. Then you also get everything that comes with the pass essentially for free.
