I love the comment saying “Beat SMO by playing BotW”, and that gave me an idea: Beating SMO and BotW with both games taking the same inputs, so everytime you press a button, it happens in both games.
so honestly, the difference between him playing grumpy and his usual self is huge. the instant he finished his grumpy run, there was a smile back on his face. I couldnt smile as much as this man does

I think the breath of the wild "all koroks" challenge meant that the the only requirement to beat the run was all koroks. so basically exclude all fun parts of botw and just look around for koroks. sounds epic
I was thinking for the beating Mario without playing it, you'd hand the controller to your room mate and instruct and direct him into beating the game. You would technically not be playing the game, but you would be beating it. I also suppose this would also work for not touching the controller.
He already did this by uploading his any% speedrun guides. The people who followed the guides step by step beat the game and Smallant also beat it indirectly.

If you have a second switch this could be a fun thing to do, start a speed run on each that are roughly the same length and start a random timer. Whenever the timer goes off pause the game you’re in and switch to the other one.
I like that. It'd be even better if each game had a separate challenge going on top of that.

watching this i realized that in snow kingdom, there is a room that you go through to open one of the gates for the race area and you have to go around its at 10:49 you can jump straight to the end with a regular long jump and cap bounce
The “beat Pokemon without Pokemon” challenge reminds me of a thread I saw on 4chan back when I browsed there. The OP was playing through a weird ROMhack that changed the story and mechanics of Emerald, the most notable of which being the rival having a level 100 pokemon off the bat if you pick May instead of Brendan. Flash forward to the fifth gym(they leveled up their starter to 100 in the first area to beat the rival), and after many bugs due to them picking May, someone came into the thread and, using N pictures to avatarpost, told them to release all their pokemon and only keep the Agumon that they caught(yes, the hack added in Agumon) if they got quads. They eventually did get quads, and the OP had to release all of their mons including the level 100 starter and train the ~level 5 Agumon. They ended up beating Pokemon without any pokemon. That was probably the funniest occurrence I ever had on the site.
rewatching this video and I believe that d_wayy got the closest time in chat with a guess of 26.54 compaired to the final time of 26.59 (sent 21:55 green name, sent at the same time as smallant says bonks)

watching this i realized that in snow kingdom, there is a room that you go through to open one of the gates for the race area and you have to go around its at 10:49 you can jump straight to the end with a regular long jump and cap bounce

The “beat Pokemon without Pokemon” challenge reminds me of a thread I saw on 4chan back when I browsed there.
The OP was playing through a weird ROMhack that changed the story and mechanics of Emerald, the most notable of which being the rival having a level 100 pokemon off the bat if you pick May instead of Brendan. Flash forward to the fifth gym(they leveled up their starter to 100 in the first area to beat the rival), and after many bugs due to them picking May, someone came into the thread and, using N pictures to avatarpost, told them to release all their pokemon and only keep the Agumon that they caught(yes, the hack added in Agumon) if they got quads. They eventually did get quads, and the OP had to release all of their mons including the level 100 starter and train the ~level 5 Agumon. They ended up beating Pokemon without any pokemon. That was probably the funniest occurrence I ever had on the site.
