I'm curious why there are so many people who don't understand that Punk goes Pop is not necessarily about turning a Pop song into a Punk genre song. This is about Punk scene bands covering popular songs at the time. It's the artists discretion to cover like the original or put a twist on it. Or it turn it completely different. And I know I'm probably gonna have the TH-cam community try to kill me over this cause they won't view different perspectives, they expect what they want handed to them which is shameful that the community of music lovers is going that way.

That's what this series of albums is all about. Also, PVRIS is not even a punk/pop punk/rock band, I don't even know why are they here. Also, their cover sound too close to the original, they don't bring nothing new to the table.

To the people which say it sounds too similar to the original, ive got 4 words for you: WHAT DID YOU EXPECT? This isnt August Burns Red, it's PVRIS. Their sound its very pop based, just like Sia's. If Sia didnt come out with the original, this song would sound like a regular PVRIS song. Having them do a rockier rendition would've surprised me.
Personally, i prefer Lynn's vocals, which make me enjoy this cover more than the original.

Justine Kennis It's not PVRIS's fault I guess, but why put this on a "Pop Goes Punk" Album if you aren't gonna change anything about it...the whole point is to hear these songs in a new genre.
sean13banger i totally get where you're coming from, that's what i usually think as well.Tbh, i think everyone knows by now that "Punk goes Pop" isnt the most fitting title, and it never really has been, exept maybe in it's earlier days. I will highly doubt that Fearless will change that title now, simply because this series is now pretty darn popular(so it has gained recognition under that title) and its also a pretty catchy one. PVRIS arent punk, nor do they claim themselves to be. Theyre simply on this album because again, theyre popular in this music scene and having them on the album grabs attention to a lot of people. Its kinda sad in a way, that all decisions made by a company are all money-based, but that's the reality of buisness.

To be fair Lynn does the drums for recordings, Justin only does drums doing live performances as he is still not a official member of the band he is just their touring drummer

March 2021 - I just discovered this cover (AMAZING BTW) and it was my first time hearing PVRIS. I am STUNNED - after listening to all their music this is one of my new favorite artists - absolutely insane talent in this group!

well i like soft songs too, just not pop. I'm not trying to be edgy, I like stuff like Cattle Decapitation, but also stuff like some of Rob Scallon's work. This song just doesn't sound very different from the original imo.

so i watched this video a while back. back when iPrevail released their punk goes pop version of blank space. never heard of the band and never looked up their music. fast forward a year or two and i see they are opening up for Muse and 30 seconds. check out their album and listen to it no less that a 100 times. going back to this song, i never realized it was the same person. PVRIS is some good shit.
