    *100% best **Generater.Systems** I have used. A test for hurricane prep here in Louisiana: three AC units, 5000, 5000 & 8000, 3 fridges, 2 device power setups, 4 flat screens....AND I had 40% of the power meter to spare.*

      I'm guessing 4 or 5 hours. Depends on the load. Every time I ran it out I was running a space heater and only woke up when it got cold so I can't tell you for sure. Space heaters are a big load. I think the manual says it will run for 11 hours on a 25% load. Sorry!

      Very nice just bought the 5,000 version. So it sounds like I can power my entire house minus central ac but two window units I have

    FYI EVERYONE WHO HAS HARD TIME RESTARTING THE PREDATOR 3500 WHEN ITS HOT OUTSIDE... All you have you have to do is remove the gas cap and it will start right up. Just needs to vent. Somehow it took me almost two summers to finally figure this out lol. . ALSO Jesus Christ delivered me from meth, adderall prescription, alcoholism, cigs etc in Sept 2014. No rehab or any other outside help! Just the Lord and His Word!! Eternal life in Jesus Christ alone. Make sure you seek and abide in Him!

    Thank you for the video. I am breaking mine in right now, just changed the oil at 5 hours. Lots of metal flakes in it. I'm using my heat gun and daughters hair dryer for the load, working out great !

    The sales guy sold me a Synthetic blend and I needed it's use that day. (Fires). Is it too late to go to a standard oil. Aircraft typically break in with non Detergent, but I figure that's a bit extreme. And No, I did NOT put it under a heavy load.

  • @TC-tw5zk

    In that 30 hour break in period...you change oil how many times? And did you run it every day for a few hours for the break-in process or do 30 hours straight?

    • @retiredguyadventures6211
      @retiredguyadventures6211  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I honestly can't remember now. I think I did it after a couple of hours, and then maybe every 6 or 8 hours. You got to change the load every once in a while so it doesn't set the rings at a certain point.

    I bought a new generator and it sais to use Non-Synthetic motor oil only. Any reason for that? After break-in period and changing the oil with conventional oil I wanted to use synthetic oil. Thank you.

    • @retiredguyadventures6211
      @retiredguyadventures6211  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yea I don't know what that's all about. Maybe they meant just for the break-in period. There is a whole internet thing going on about to use, or not use ,synthetic oil on break in. I used regular oil on the first change because most of the fillings will be in the first oil change after that I used synthetic and so far so good.

      @@retiredguyadventures6211 I agree. I`ll wait until the warranty wears out and then switch to synthetic. Thank you!

    3:20 33.3 amps...?? thats more than the generator is capable of outputting.

    • @retiredguyadventures6211
      @retiredguyadventures6211  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are right. It was hard to see the LCD display. I fist said 30 and then corrected myself without saying so in the video to 3.3 amps, but it came out sounding like 33.3. I think it is rated at 25 running amps @ 3000 watts, and 3500 startup watts. Sorry for the confusion.

    My new 3500 Predator runs my RV air conditioner at 12.3 Amps. It bogs down when compressor cycles pretty heavy. But recovers quickly. Maybe I need a "hard start capacitor kit" or is this ok?

    • @retiredguyadventures6211
      @retiredguyadventures6211  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      How big is your ac unit? Mine is 13.5k and it runs it fine. Sorry I can't help with info on hard start kits. There are a couple of Predator 3500 Facebook pages that you can probably get some good info from. If your ac unit is larger than 13.5k I don't know what your options are.

    • @henrichmeier
      @henrichmeier 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      :) Yeah for sure but that's not a bad idea to run your generator for first 5 hours with a min load and then oil change.

  • @bobthomas8241
    @bobthomas8241 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    You should not run the generator with the oil fill door off. It defeats the proper air flow designed to cool both the engine and the inverter electronics. You have effectively shortened the life of the generator.

    • @energyoneeighty2887
      @energyoneeighty2887 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      ive read where some seem to be deprived of air because of the way they made them. Ive seen posts with them modifying the cover to allow more airflow cause it would bogg down and shut off or run really rich.

    • @bobthomas8241
      @bobthomas8241 5 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Changing the sir flow defeats the designed cooling characteristics of the generator. The inverter circuit board requires a copious amount of cooling and robbing that board of its normally robust airflow will cause an early failure of the generator. If the generator doesn't run properly then the air filter and carburetor need to be checked. Adding extra vents holes in the generator is not the answer. @@energyoneeighty2887

      Never Ever, run the generator with the oil fill door open. You would have enjoyed that machine for thousands of hours, you will be lucky to get a few hundred hours now. I hope you bought the extended warranty.
