I'd love to hear John & Paul really talking to each other. Real conversation, and not staged. Just to be a mouse in the corner listening to a couple of brilliant minds. Would that be a trip or what?! Fun stuff.
Geez, y'know it's how many years later? And I can still sit and watch this stuff like it's just happened! It's amazing! I could watch John & Paul read the phone book! Not a joke! The chemistry between them is like nothing I've ever seen before, they're like a couple...they're so special, love them
In addition to Sellers-as-Olivier doing "A Hard Day's Night," he made an audio imitating Lennon while reciting "the winter of our discontent" from "Richard III." I don't believe he made a video of it, though.
From what I know of it,the show was taped on 1 and 2 November 1965,and shown on ITV on either 16 or 17 december 1965. On December 30 1985,and I saw it for the first time, when Channel 4 did a night of 60s TV shows, and this was the opener.
Great to see the relationship between Lennon and McCartney - and their attempt at acting and poking fun at themselves, particularly McCartney's supposed lack of awareness of what languages are being sung. Everyone knows he had and has an ear for languages.
this is amazing i've been a beatles fan all my life and i just don't stop learning and seeng new stuff from this 4 music giants; but like other are asking... where is the complete program? they should put it in this wonderful site!
haha this is great thanks for posting beacoro i love when they lip synch its usually hilarious check out ' ticket to ride' its really funny john looks so good here! i love these guys
I love the part with the songs in the different languages. Paul keeps getting them wrong until the last one. He's so cute. I love this whole video though. Great songs.
gran rafaela Should be "innocent" in quotation marks - I mean, crawling out of an Amsterdam brothel in the morning and smoking pot in Buckingham Palace is not really... etc. And even the more public things were perceived sometimes as quite tough stuff, even as "decline of the west" (didn't last long, the 60s and people's minds changed quickly. Must have been around 1,5 years later that Jimi Hendrix licked his guitar in the public the 1st time. And, yes, of course, the Stones and their usual image etc.)
im sorry but i had the biggest beatlegasm EVER cuz of this vid.... *beatlgasms again* I LUV U JOHNNY!!!!!!!!... and i laughed... thank you so much for uploading this :)
Essa dupla(George e Ringo, também) merece todas as homenagens. The Beatles foram, são e sempre será a melhor banda de todos os tempos.Sinto muito Lady Gaga( ou coco?)
@emilioortiz14 Fact: Paul McCartney had more Top 10 singles than John did in their time as the Beatles (by a significant margin). With that said, they're both equally good. John was a bit more creative, but Paul was more melodic and more successful.
Thanks for the information! :D I wrote the description ages ago, but I'm possitive I only typed what I'd heard/read from the Beatles themselves (Anthology). Not doubting that the dates you give are more accurate, cause they most probably are. It's practically expected that they'd mix up the exact dates, with all the stuff they had to do- and in so little time, too.
@cdadave83814 They didn't really lip-sync as much as just over-dubbed video footage of them pretending to play for music videos, or certain shows. In fact the majority of their music videos are not over-dubs but live un-edioted footage. It was heavily during the early years, and it was no secret, like in Rain where Ringo is sitting in the back playing a tambourine lazy-ly on a track with the sound of a drumset playing, or Paul not playing his bass for a certain scene and you still hear bass.
Isn't it amazing the language changes (the lyrics) however the music remains the same! One language everyone relates to. Learned just how comical John could be.
This is my favorite part...Paul guessing the languages..."I could listen to him for hours"...if your a true Beatle fan you know where that line came from.Any takers?
This is wonderful thankyou! I've been wanting this. Like to tell you this was first broadcast in December 1965. It was taped the month before. So it's '65 not '64. Sorry I'm very anal.
The greatest bromance in history ♥
god you’re so real for this
In my opinion, these guys were the best songwriting team of all time. Their music will live forever.
It's wild seeing just John and Paul together. Very cool.
I'd love to hear John & Paul really talking to each other. Real conversation, and not staged. Just to be a mouse in the corner listening to a couple of brilliant minds.
Would that be a trip or what?! Fun stuff.
The Beatles, almost 50 years later, still give me a tingle down my spine. Best band ever and best songwriters to boot. To Chelsea boot..
Geez, y'know it's how many years later? And I can still sit and watch this stuff like it's just happened! It's amazing! I could watch John & Paul read the phone book! Not a joke! The chemistry between them is like nothing I've ever seen before, they're like a couple...they're so special, love them
Day Tripper is one of their best, just amazing how many great songs they wrote!
Man, it shows you that in ONE SHORT year people from all over were already covering their songs. This really, brings it home.
The masters. They had everything. Talent, looks, personality. No wonder they ruled the world. Love them forever.
In addition to Sellers-as-Olivier doing "A Hard Day's Night," he made an audio imitating Lennon while reciting "the winter of our discontent" from "Richard III." I don't believe he made a video of it, though.
John- Paul -Paul -John... they were the greatest songwriters of the twentieth century, together they were pure magic
+ Carmen Vargas Je vous suis dans votre commentaire et je m'en lasse pas...

God Bless Lennon & McCartney! Thanks for your songs.
What a surprise - a rare glimpse of the Beatles just at the time of "Rubber Soul", and just before their final tours and entering their studio phase.
Great to see the relationship between Lennon and McCartney - and their attempt at acting and poking fun at themselves, particularly McCartney's supposed lack of awareness of what languages are being sung. Everyone knows he had and has an ear for languages.
4:27 Did anyone else expect the intermission from Help! to play after "end of part one" flashed on the screen? :)
That's ''Can't Buy Me Love'' sanged in Japanese lyrics.
5:05 I'm totally envious of Paul's view

This is wonderful thankyou! I've been wanting this. Like to tell you this was first broadcast in December 1965. It was taped the month before. So it's '65 not '64. Sorry I'm very anal.
