They should tire, but these slow starts of ours are going to find a team to take their chances and I hope it’s not Sunday. If we cut out sideball and backwards passes to death and we play our game then we should be ok. Pity McCowan isn’t playing as I’d have him anyway before Engels & Hatate.

I know it might seem a bit negative but Calum , terrific player, can at times be poor in defence..I've noted he has got caught many times trying to either dribble or making passes out of defence which has resulted in goals against us...I hope Brendan makes sure he clears decisively at all times...🏴☘️🇮🇪
Honestly, I just can't wrap my head around comments like this. Just a head scratcher. He'll be man of the match tomorrow, like he is in most old firm games. In the last year(Europe included)he has a 94% pass completion. That puts him in the top 1% in the WORLD. He also makes 1.6 interceptions PER GAME, putting him in the top 10% IN THE WORLD for ball recovery. You and all the other CalMac critics do not have a clue what you are talking about ( I'm not trying to insult you, I mean yours is an emotional view not based an the available data)

Good performance by Rangers last night against EPL opponents but still think Celtic have bigger goal threats in attack and pace. Should be a good game. Shamrock Rovers having a marvellous run in European Conference and have qualified for the knockout stage with a couple of matches still to play are heading in the direction of 6 million in prize money. They've already pased the 5 mil. Jonny Kenny hitting the headlines as top scorer in the competition. Brendan ready to have a look .
Haven’t been that excited by old firm games in ages since the opposition have been so poor but excited again since Rangers look better. Still confident that we’ll win. Hatate has been way off it and needs replaced by Bernardo in this game for me.
Our midfield need to stand up to some crunching tackles, they flew into tackles against spurs. Their players folded under pressure, we will need to be careful about giving the ball away.
No McCown on Sunday so we are now stuck with Hatate or Engels in midfield. We know that Hatate has the capability of occasionally doing something decent. Engels has not even shown that yet apart from being our best penalty-taker. On balance, without being at all confident of him being up for this game, I'd probably go with Hatate. Not much of a choice, tbh, in our so-called great squad.🙄
@@gezobel yep I keep hearing about our “in depth” squad. So look what happens when CCV is out. We’ve nobody of similar ability or calming influence. Not convinced Engels is ever going to make it here. Hatate blows hot and cold as does Kyogo.
@@scotiavelo1405Agree .. but think Kyogo is often a victim of poor and even non-existent service as was evident on Tuesday. He at least is always on the move and continually presses the keeper. He certainly offers more than Hatate and Engels even on his non-scoring days, imv.
@@scotiavelo1405 Having a good squad isn't having 4 Carter Vickers. You literally cannot have 4 Carter Vickers when only 2 play every week. You can't pay 2 players 20k a week to sit on the bench and you can't keep those players happy when consistenly not playing. As for Engels, it's startling how short some memories are. O'Riley started well then completely tailed off under Ange. Paulo was absolutely mince for extended spells in his first season. Yet it's December and you're writing a 21 year old, with 1 season of football under his belt, off because his form has dipped. It genuinely baffles me.
@@scotiavelo1405 I agree with the gist of your point but your CCV example is a terrible one. The Scales/Trusty partnership has been excellent when called upon. A better example would be our options on the wing if Maeda and/or Kuhn are ever out for any length of time.
@ i NEVER said have 4 CCV’s - when he’s out the side we have 2 nervous wrecks in defence. Like when CCV had to play 2 roles his own plus covering Starfelts mistakes. We’ve nobody of his calibre to fill in. And Yes I’ve seen enough of Engels to know he shows nothing apart from taking penalty kicks. Luke McCowan is more of a player than he is at 11 times less the price. He will never be as direct as O’Reilly.
