Hazawy Episode 3: The Donkey Lady | الحلقة 3: حمارة القايلة

Qatar Museums presents a new animated short, The Donkey Lady, based on a traditional folktale that has been passed down for generations. Originating as a story to protect children from the dangers of venturing out alone under the hot desert sun, The Donkey Lady is a cautionary tale of what can happen to those who stray far from home. In this version of the story, young Khalid and Maryam are lost in the desert when they come across a shadowy female figure and her car. The mysterious woman offers them a ride home, if they can help her change her flat tire. But something isn’t quite right, and soon enough, Khalid and Maryam discover that all is not as it seems.

حرصًا من متاحف قطر على إحيائها للتراث الثقافي المحلي، نقدم حلقة قصيرة للرسوم المتحركة تحكي قصة جديدة، تحت عنوان "حمارة القايلة"، تستمدّ فكرتها من حكاية شعبية تقليدية توارثتها الأجيال. قد تكون استخدمت بغرض حماية الأطفال الذين يغامرون بالخروج بمفردهم تحت حرارة شمس الظهيرة الحارقة، تقدم " حمارة القايلة" نوعًا من التحذير عما يُتوقّع حدوثه لأولئك الذين يبتعدون عن منازلهم. في هذه النسخة من القصة، يضيع كلّ من خالد ومريم الصغيران في الصحراء، ويصادفان شخصية غامضة لامرأة بسيارتها، تعرض عليهما أن توصلهما إلى المنزل، إن نجحا في مساعدتها في تغيير إطار سيارتها الفارغ. غير أن هناك خللًا ما، فسرعان ما اكتشف خالد ومريم أن كل الأمور ليست كما تبدو عليه.
