Impressive!!!! We use grass clippings for mulch! 1. Adds nitrogen 2. Free 3. In your backyard- no travel 4. Organic 5. Ample supply 6. Good exercise (spreading) 7. Neat looking 👏👏👏
How about freeze blankets or something like that to cover up for the night your favourite crops? Will it work? Of course it’s impossible to cover everything but at least some.
@@Journey-NB For sure! I don't own true frost blankets, but a simple sheet or lightweight blanket works fine for me. Like you said, it's impossible to cover everything, but I try to cover the important stuff :)
What are your plans for this channel? Are you going to be posting during winter too? I really enjoy your videos, the way you explain! I’m really glad I found your channel! 🌺
Haha, great question! I'm kind of making it up as I go. Definitely providing homesteading how-to's (gardening, food preservation, chickens, etc.), but as we build our off-grid home I'm definitely planning to share some on that as well. What do you want to see from me here? I'm open to any ideas!
As I understand you are a dietician by profession. Would be nice to see and hear your professional insight about homesteading and gardening. Benefits of such lifestyle. Many of viewers deal with different types of health problems and would be nice to hear about what food or local Minnesota herbals help with what. Just a few things I would like to see. ❤
I love your videos 😁 Unfortunately, I don't think I got notified about this one today. I just found it by scrolling 🙁 This was a fun one to watch. Thank you ❤
It's electric - they steer clear of it. While they probably could technically jump the fence, they don't seem to want to. I haven't had an issue in 8 years and we have A LOT of deer.
@@thehomesteadingrdWhich variety is the kale? I was looking for info on your website, but couldn’t find anything. I’m in Wisconsin and curious about all of the varieties you grow. Thank you ❤

Love this, follow your instagram well and appreciate all the good tips you are providing. I’m curious why are the deer not jumping the fence?

Nice video! What is the brand for the electric fence please?
Here you go! geni.us/AmazonElectricFence
Would you do anything different if starting this in the fall to plant next spring?
Great question! I would have done a soil test before adding compost and I would have used my broadfork more to deeply loosen my soil.
