You know, the thing about trolls not liking bells has mythological antecedents in Nordic troll tales and general Western European Faerie lore.
It came about, if I recall correctly, with the Church trying to reconcile older pagan beliefs with that of Christianity. Some said faeries were demons/fallen angels, others souls of the pre-Christian dead or unbaptized babies, souls of people who were not evil enough for Hell or good enough for Hell, the Children of Adam and Lilith or descendants of Cain. Thus, they had an aversion to church bells.
In fact, this trope is referenced by the character, the Faerie King Oberon, by Shakespeare.

Well, you'll get your wish - the only remaining graphic novel is covered in the S2 finale and the film so this season is probably the most episodic Hilda gets - despite the running subplot about Erik Ahlberg whose role has been greatly expanded from said graphic novel....

Ah Ahlberg...Love to hate that character, his so incompetent, but also amusing with it. I like how much more they did with his character in this show.
Also neat little detail in the intro you can see the time of day is closer to dawn, and instead of Hilda jumping into her mothers arm, and being swang around into the next frame she instead slides away and avoids her. Which does represent a little theme between the two of them this season.
    Also Bellkeeper my beloved!
