I am looking for someone who can give me an answer to my question ! The Chevy Trailblazer (crossovers) is currently being built and manufactured in Incheon, South Korea, and Shanghai, China, 97% of the vehicle !! With only 3% US/Canadian product ! How is it that a vehicle can be badged with an American bowtie that has virtually "0" American labor and or product behind it ? Sadly no one will probably agree with me because there seems to be no American pride anymore 😞.
I got an answer but you won’t like it. GM who owns Chevy owns a manufacturer in South Korea which has a model this is based off. Also the Buick twin version of this was developed in China because Buick is more popular in China than it is in the US. It is certainly sad to see the China part however after owning a Hyundai (South Korean brand) I’ve been quite impressed with South Korean vehicles. They have definitely outgrown their old scrappy reputation. The “Made in America” pride is dying because in Japan and recently South Korea they have extremely good quality control processes. But the Domestic brands in the last 15 years have been making lots of short cuts to cheapen their costs for the benefit of the shareholder. To clarify it has nothing to do with the people making it but rather the companies controlling it.
@@dillonh321 I do agree with the big companies not caring about "the people" , just the shareholders. I will hold on to my 2018 Cruze , which I know is only about 60% American product and labor, but at least I know that some of my cost went to supporting my fellow American neighbors ! Thanks for sharing your thoughts with me !
